Wow. Definitely must get by Cael and Staff. Sidun is definitely on another level. Perfect replacement for Luke who will probably stick around in the NLWC awhile. Should help us as well.
Sidun fits our lineup like a glove. His coach has mentioned he thinks Landon is a career 125, that picture next to Cody would definitely agree.
Luke will be a senior by the time Landon enrolls (for 2027-2028 season). He'll either be above 125 by then or want to take a redshirt to focus on freestyle in an Olympic year so Landon can wrestle right away. Or Landon can redshirt if Luke wants to be 4 and done and takeover after that.
Not often is there is such a clear fit in our lineup these days.
With head of dark floppy hair and the big smile hopefully he has girlfriend named Maddie and not Syd.Wow. Definitely must get by Cael and Staff. Sidun is definitely on another level. Perfect replacement for Luke who will probably stick around in the NLWC awhile. Should help us as well.

I have no idea if it's too early or not.

Sidun was fantastic. Keep an eye out for this story to drop tomorrow.Couldn't agree more. Hopefully catching up with him for an interview about the home visit and the state of his recruitment this afternoon. Stay tuned.
Anyone hear any update if Ono has one or two years to compete? If only one, will that be this year or next?Sidun was fantastic. Keep an eye out for this story to drop tomorrow.
Those are two pretty good reasons, for sure.I imagine Cael wants 9/27 as a big official visit day this year. He likes using football night games.
Big thing about Cael I just learned is is he doesn't do a singlet and warmup photoshoot as part of an OV, so a lot of visitors never post pictures confirming they visited unless they want to themselves. Two big reasons for that I heard:
1. He doesn't really view it as a good use of time when it's limited
2. He wants to keep the message of "it's a privilege to wear the PSU singlet, the photoshoot is for people on the team, sign and then you get it"
Don't have an update on that right now. Sorry.Anyone hear any update if Ono has one or two years to compete? If only one, will that be this year or next?
Was wondering if you think the staff is keeping a tight lid on him this summer. I have to imagine he’s one of, if not the most desired interview in college wrestling right now. Any thoughts?Don't have an update on that right now. Sorry.
Uh, can't say I've really thought about it. But, after taking a couple of minutes to do so, I'd say: Not any more than usual. Was wondering if you think the staff is keeping a tight lid on him this summer. He does. The wrestling recruits sit across from us with our Football seats in section EF Row P, Seats 2 and 4.I imagine Cael wants 9/27 as a big official visit day this year. He likes using football night games.

You'll see guys who have past relationships with people pop up on their podcasts or shows (FLO, Basch, etc.) from time to time, but generally speaking, Penn State guys don't talk much outside of the interview windows that are either set up by the program or happen after matches or tournaments. And even then, it's no guarantee: No PSU guys came to the breakout interview area at nationals after the quarterfinals, and not all of them made it there after their medal matches, for example. Those aren't required by the NCAA like post-semis or post-finals for the winner are. But, I'd say a majority of the winners from either QF or medal round stopped by.
I guess the long and short of it is: Do I think we'd have seen something new on Flo by now ala the first part of my response? Yeah. But am I shocked it hasn't happened? No, not at all.
Sure! Thanks for the question. Thanks for the insight
Scroll up to Post 387 (pre-site merger) for another sign.Hopefully Landon's admiration for Zain Retherford is a good sign of his interest in Penn State. The quote below is from the listed article that came out a month ago:

Penn State Wrestling: Elite In-State Recruit Taken With PSU
Landon Sidun is one of the best wrestlers in Pennsylvania from his class, and a former Penn State wrestling star who came from Pennsylvanianittanysportsnow.com
But the guy Sidun, who comes out of Norwin High School in the Pittsburgh Area, grew up admiring might be Penn State’s best, either from PA or any other state.
It was none other than two-time Hodge Trophy winner and Benton, Pennsylvania, native Zain Retherford.
“That guy was a beast on top,” Sidun told Zach Seyko of Locked on Nittany Lions in an exclusive interview. “I want to wrestle like that guy. I want to be like him on top because that dude was so dominant. It was unreal.”
