^^ Has no idea how NIL works, or athletic scholarships that have been offered to recruits for decades.
um I do........ NIL within reason --- sorry but 1 million bucks a year for a nonrevenue sport is stupid dumb regardless...... you missed the culture vibe of the post of course everyone gets money its been made quite clear what Iowa and ok st do...they flash money first ask questions later I suspect Cael takes a measured approach and he gets a little more play now with scholie increases .. at 9.9 a few years back not every one was on a full ride.... I know how it works ... but since you will reply with ==>PSU has more NIL money than we think<== great ...you contributing and how much?

Basch and Willie talked about it this morning and the one thing they said that is likely true is that it really is not about the money because by decommitting he likely left money on the table as any deals now are limited to what the schools can offer through the settlement and any NIL deals have to be approved through a Clearinghouse. Recruits had to have deals in place prior to June 6th in order for them to be grandfathered in and not go through the Clearinghouse.

I have zero intel but Pitt would be my dark horse pick. To me it seemed their prior AD was trying to build Pitt athletics using Penn State as the model. She thought, "What would it take to build athletics success at a large university in the northeast?? And what sports could we have success in??" They built (or are building) a new Olympic sports complex which seems to be a version of the role Rec Hall plays at Penn State. I doubt they want to spend that money and not have results to show for it.

So they've developed a strong WVB program to fit the model. I wouldn't be surprised if they've also decided to open the wallet in an attempt to elevate the wrestling program as well. Or maybe I'm just full of baloney.
From what I’ve been seeing, this was specific to lack of access to train with the HWC. If that’s the case, and this is about development opportunities this next year I don’t think Pitt solves that problem. Nebraska has a better room, but good luck popping out to Lincoln to train for the weekend. PSU or Ohio State would make more sense…

He has far better training partners in his parents basement between Jax and Melvin vs. any middleweight on Pitt’s roster.

Would You wrestle for this man?
Truthfully, 99% of the people commenting on this, or any message board, never had the talent or abilities to wrestle D1 let alone to even be reached out to by TnT about maybe wrestling at Iowa. I understand your point because if I was a father of a kid who did have the talent I wouldn't want him going to Iowa, or Nebraska due to the behavior and conduct of the coaches during duals. The Brands are likely good men and good hearted BUT they handle themselves like spoiled toddlers during duals. They treat referees like trash. Manning is somehow worse.

um no let him go elsewhere...if kid wants to get paid without earning it... this isnt the place for him we have standards. Either you are on board with those standards or you are not
Horrible take. Bo will be an asset to whoever gets him.

All you Penn St fans who turned on Bo what are you all saying now 😂😂. Imagine he's a great kid who you guys would love to have. The way Penn St fans bashed him after he picked Iowa and it was disgusting. Hopefully people will treat him better down the road
Hope he goes to another school he didn’t want to be with PSU the first time. don’t need the drama here. just guys that want to be the best at wrestling

I'll say

what I've said elsewhere, but was not on here when he committed. He is a great talent. He also benefits from a large age advantage and I believe Jayden James will be the better wrestler primarily because he is nearly two years younger and has more growth ahead him both physically and technically. Would never turn my nose up at basset but I understand the vitriol expressed to an extent. He is a young MAN who has spent years on social media building a brand. He spent many months making a spectacle out of his recruitment. He has put himself out there on his own free will. He is not immune to criticism and to be treated with kid gloves like your normal highschool recruit. If he signs at Penn State, great. If not, great I hope he reaches his goals and reps the USA.

No “360” from me ;). I’ve never thought Bo was this end all, be all type of recruit like Spencer Lee, Aaron Brooks, or Gable Steveson. His age, wrestling style, and frame scream already at his ceiling (or close to it). I think Bo is more of a Vincenzo Joseph, Alex Marinelli, SVN type of recruit. He could win 2 titles, or “only” be a 4xAA. Those aren’t bad options, but I’d expect 2-4 titles each from Duke, Jax, and Blaze.

Expecting Bo to revive a struggling program like Iowa and all the pressures that go with that could have easily stunted Bo’s growth. I think Bo going to a place like PSU where he is just asked to be himself, will give him a better chance to reach his lofty goals.

Add in the current difference between the NLWC & HWC and every thing says PSU can get the best out of Bo. If it’s just about social media clicks and T-shirt sales, he should go somewhere else.

Ultimately, I think he picks PSU and wins 2 titles to go with 4 team titles.

Cenzo had the same # of championships as Steveson. And if not for Covid, perhaps could've tied Lee with 3. If Bassett has a Cenzo-like career, that would be a great success.

No they will be having to spin all the way around so all the S**T they talked can fall out of their pants

There were a fair amount of Penn State posters who weren't keen on Bassett before he committed to Iowa. And who cares if some Penn State posters started to talk sh#$ about Bassett after he committed to Iowa? It's no different than your fellow Iowa fans talking sh#$ about Bassett now that he's left. That's part of fandom.

Why isn’t this Corby clown on Gia lashing out at the fans who are now bashing him? I wonder…
Don't see anyone bashing me actually. I saw one joke . Try harder next time

Okay , Spice, Moogy and now Corby. I have been on the BWI board for many years and have never ignored anyone. But in the last six months or so I have put three on ignore. They post so much nonsense.

I don't have "a" board . Williams has had 2 of his charges dropped one was that horrible assault from shoving a bouncer and the other was trespassing. Sounds like he was under the legal limit as well so I don't expect the public intoxication to stick either.
You just felt the need to gate-keep Not Your Board. Got it.

He'd get a better reception on PSU boards if he just stopped pretending he's not an Iowa fan. You read his posts on HB/HR/GIA and then you see the fakeness here and it's just so cringy and embarrassing.

PSU's in-home with the Bassett's yesterday was pushed for some reason. I still think there is a lot of peripheral crap that needs to get worked out before we declare PSU heavily involved. It is likely that OkState could be playing it pretty much the same way from what I have heard (3rd hand). And by that, I don't mean just money - pretty sure that PSU NIL people have had discussions with them already on this topic.

My take is that this recruitment is pretty fluid, with the exception of Iowa, which right now is out. Maybe there is room for a shocker here. I think it is pretty wide open right now, although my guess is that in the end, the result will not be that shocking after a recalibration, but that's my wild speculation based on how these things usually work out.

Maybe just logistics… I think I saw BB was coaching at a clinic/camp with Jordan Burrows yesterday

Not sure why all the negative crap on Bo. He seems like a good level headed kid who has a strong work ethic and drive to get better. Plus Cael isn't knocking on his door if Cael was relieved the kid initially picked Iowa.
Come on over and step in at 149 when Shayne is finished.
