I am struggling with my KYPSW 141 pick.

Braeden was hitting the creamery two months ago walking around at 160, thinking he had the year off.

Sure he has looked a little sloppy and his style can introduce a scare here and there, but he also looks strong and now confirmable at 141. He is just now getting into form.

This is one match that has upset written all over it. I should put my money where my mouth is and pick the upset. I didn't yet but probably will in advance of the deadline. I like his chances. I am not ready to give him a shot against Mendez who is a man on a mission this year, but Hardy? My spider senses are tingling.

Unless Araujo can shorten the match by riding Mitchell a long time and also sneak in a TD, I definitely don't see Mitchell being held to a regular decision. A tech might not even be out of the question. Also, Mitchell's top game is going to be difficult for a freshman to handle.

A willing partner helps, but Mitch has 2 features that scream bonus. First, even if the other kid doesn't want to engage, Mitch just dives in and initiates wrestling. The second is his top wrestling this year. Mitchell will get bonus, it is just a matter if it is major, tech or fall.

Cole will be “competitive” with AJ in the sense that AJ is looking for a 2-1 TB1 victory in every match, so if AJ dictates the match, this is what it will be.

Cole needs to push the pace. Ferrari doesn’t appear to have the gas tank to go hard for 3 periods. If Cole can keep it close and push pace through the 1st two periods, I think he can win it in the third.

Mitchell is also working more on top for falls rather than making quick take them down let them up. That slows it down too

Caliendo kept the match closer vs Mitch in the post season...bc he was not trying to win but trying to survive... and not get bonused... this makes for a boring match and a lower scoring match. Yes... Mitch seems to have made some adjustments and continues to grow... this is why you come to Penn State... But Iowa- Neby and others are practicing too and they will continue to work on ways to try to frustrate Mitch and the rest of our guys! They will wrestle us different then they wrestle each other!

Nolf had like an 88% bonus rate but no one has ever bonused every opponent all season long (i don't believe). I think it is fair to have expectations to say... Mitch will be one of the most dominant wrestlers we have witnessed and having one of the most dominant seasons... but probably not realistic to go 100% on the bonus rate for the year! JMO

Like a lot of our guys.... He is wrestling with an extreme amount of confidence and this gives him the freedom to attack (even with reckless abandon at times). Hoping that Mitch bonuses every opponent this year... but that really unprecedented and if Nolf and Bo were near 90% and Cael near 90 %... we should not be shocked if Mitch is not 100%..... THAT DOES NOT TAKE AWAY FROM HIS DOMINANCE. in fact it probably speaks into his dominance bc other top competitors stop trying to beat you and simple try to survive against you ! What a compliment!

Agreed but not sure that Cole has shown that his tank is there yet either...
but fortunately for us... our guys seem to peak in March... so a good test for Cole but whatever the outcome it will be worse for AJ in March!

Why would anyone ever wrestle to not get bonused in the post season where any loss throws you into consis instead of in a dual where giving up bonus points actually matters?

Agreed... unless he starts turning opponents like Eazy Ed Ruth or Bo... those near fall points stack up quick!
