Punter and Kick-Off guys

This is something I just do not understand. Why do coaches play with un-athletic or sub-athletic kick-off kickers and punters? I am a former soccer player and I can tell you kicking the **** out of something requires less skill and ability than making open-field tackles. Further, guys that are 5-9 and weigh 145lbs do not have an advantage in leg mechanics over 6-3/210lbs people, in fact it is the exact opposite. I would use full sized DB's and WR's for punting and LB's for kick-offs.

Keep in mind that I do not include field-goal kickers in the same category because they seem to require more practice. But nevertheless, I would love to see a coach teach a QB or RB to kick field goals because it would add another dimension to defending the FG play.

Something cool I see on a Bumphis highlight is that he lined up to punt for Tupelo. Having a guy that could take off on a snap would be a great advantage. (see the video at 20 seconds)
