QB recruiting is taking a strange path this year. I hope Mullen has something up his sleeve. He has only handed out a few offers, holding out to see these kids on campus for camps. I don't know that you can do that with the good QB's, but he knows better than I do.

For now, it looks like we get Broderick Hall (6-3, 182) who may or may not turn out to be a QB. He's a very athletic guy, and could be a very good fit in our system.

We have a small, but possible chance with Stephen Rivers. The big boys are coming for him, but we are still in the conversation.

For some unknown reason we have backed off of Maikhail Miller (6-2, 236). Things seemed to be going well, but then things cooled off and Mississippi offered before we did. I don't know if that matters, but it happened. It could turn out to be a good move for them.

We may have backed off because we have offered Domonique Harris (6-4, 225), but there does not appear to be the same level of interest as Miller has / had. There are also a lot of questions about Domonique's throwing ability. Taking him may also help us with other Southaven players now and in the future.

All of this is probably going to change during the camps, and again during the season. I think our QB and WR recruiting hinges on having a strong performance from either Russell or Relf.

I'm not sure what to think about the qb recruiting this year. I like the offers to the "can't miss guys", but we should be pushing a little harder for the 2nd tier guys. We won't land any of the top guys until we improve our qb play. That leaves guys like Miller and Harris who should be some of our top targets. I guess the feeling is the JR camps are early enough we can make up any lost ground.

<div id="relatedcontainer"><div id="related" class="horizfade"><p class="headlinetop">Talk about it in The Dawg Pound</p></div></div>Shiloh Christian (Ark.) quarterback Kiehl Frazier is one of the top prospects in the country for the class of 2011.

<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="208" align="left"><tbody><tr><td width="202">

</td></tr><tr><td align="middle"><font size="1">Kiehl Frazier is one of Rivals Top 250 players to watch in 2011.</font></td></tr></tbody></table>The 6-foot-3, 212-pound signal caller already has 24 scholarship offers on the table that read like a who's who among college football's elite. The spiritually devout family that Frazier comes from feels truly blessed to be in this position.

"Not everybody uses this word but for our family and the way we believe it is a blessing," said Robin Beach, Frazier's father. "Is there a lot of pressure that comes with all the attention and expectations? Yes there is but we've always tried to stay really grounded. We believe in putting God first in our lives and believe we have been put on this Earth to be servants to God and mankind. We feel that without the grace of God in our lives that we're not allowed to do anything. God has been really good to us."

Frazier holds offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida, Illinois, Kansas State, LSU, Memphis, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, Tulsa, UCLA, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Western Michigan.

Beach knew his son was gifted even from an early age but the national attention over the last few months has admittedly been a little overwhelming.

"When Kiehl was young we all knew he was going to be special athletically," Beach said. "Even as young as 15 or 16 months we knew that he was going to be special because of all the things he could do with hand-eye coordination and just seeing how he could run and move. But no, we didn't know that recruiting was going to elevate to a national level like it has. We thought he was going to get some scholarship offers obviously.

"I think when he was in ninth grade is when we started getting a hint that things were going to get a little bigger than what we thought. It was when Coach (Gus) Malzahn had just left Arkansas to go to Tulsa. He had seen Kiehl a couple of times at 7-on-7 and told us then that we might as well get ready because that kid is really special. He told us that he would have a chance to be one of the top quarterbacks in America."

One school that has caught the eye of both father and son is Mississippi State. Both have been impressed with the track record head coach Dan Mullen has had developing high caliber quarterbacks throughout his career.

"We've spoke with Coach Mullen personally on the phone on a few occasions," Beach said. "We've also talked with Coach Scott Sallach and Coach Melvin Smith and all three of them are great guys. Coach Melvin and I talked about 45 minutes on the phone one night. To be completely honest anybody that's a quarterback that wouldn't take a good hard look at Coach Mullen and his system, I just don't know why they wouldn't.

"With the communication we've had with Coach Mullen, Coach Sallach and Coach Melvin, we just think they are an outstanding group of guys. As a dad, I like a lot of the things that they had to say about how they felt about their players and player development not only as an athlete but people too. They seemed like a real straight up group of guys that I would feel real good about turning my son over to. I'm looking forward to meeting them. We've heard that Mississippi State has got a pretty campus and we're looking forward to getting down and seeing the university and what all the have to offer not only with playing football but also as an academic institution as a whole."

Despite a hectic travel schedule, the family plans to make a visit to Starkville to see what the Bulldogs' program as well as the university have to offer.

"We're absolutely going to make it to Mississippi State," Beach said. "We are still in the preliminary stages of trying to figure out where we are going to go and how we are going to get there. The simple fact of the matter is that we are working people, just plain middle class folks. Fortunately my wife and I have understanding employers but we still have to work to support our family. I just don't have the time or money to go off to all 24 of the colleges that have offered Kiehl but Misssissippi State is going to be a place that we show up at."

The family has already produced one college prospect in Harding defensive end Eddie Frazier and could have another in the making has Kiehl's younger brother, Jed, takes over the snapping duties for Shiloh this spring.

Frazier completed 63-percent of his passes throwing for 3,817 yards, 48 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He also rushed for 764 yards and 14 more scores leading the Saints to a 13-1 record and a second consecutive Class 4A title.

Frazier has already accepted an invitation to play in the Under Armor All-Star game where his coach, Josh Floyd, will be a member of the staff.

Frazier has been clocked with 4.57 speed and was named as one of Rivals Top 250 to watch in the class of 2011. He also has the possibility to graduate in December which could also speed up his commitment.

I'd like to think we have a pretty good chance on getting this kid with a strong performance this season.

but then again I dont know who he is. But as far as that article goes, after I read it I thought that we actually have a legit chance at getting this guy. His dad seems really big on sending his son where the coaches will take care of him. The whole quote from his dad is just really exciting. I feel like once we get one of these top tier quarterbacks it will be much easier in the future for mullen to keep them coming. My favorite part was where his dad says, if youre a quarterback coming out of high school I dont know why you wouldnt take a real good look at coach mullen and his program.

Mullen has some damn good luck getting one or two QBs.

However, what worries me about this guy, is that his family is deeply spiritual, which means they will pray about the decision, and we all know God's track record with our recruits.

Which means UPig and their fans will be all over him.

If this guy is that good, and word gets out, he will have a huge following in Arkansas. Mustain was talked about on sports shows his junior year of HS. Also, the state championship game Mustain played in his senior year had a crowd of 30,000.

Our only shot is to hope this guy stays under the radar. To bad Nutt is not still up there to piss the parents off.

God told the others to go somewhere else to make room for Kiehl Frazier.
