Honest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
Nope. KT and Luke will be playing for someone else next year. Our best shot to win this season is Shapen trying to prove fans wrong.Honest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
Honest answer. The coaches know way better than we do.Honest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
He’s gonna do what he’s gonna do. But you don’t give out playing time “so a player won’t transfer.” If/when he deserves to play more he will. If he transfers out we’ll replace him. We have to start looking at these players as commodities. Cause that’s sure how they’re looking at the schools.I pray KT doesn't transfer out.
Him and Lebby looked pretty close at the start of the season... always celebrating TDs together.
Now i rarely see them together during the games.
Makes me nervous.
Luke will probably be somewhere else next year & KT will the QB at MSUNope. KT and Luke will be playing for someone else next year. Our best shot to win this season is Shapen trying to prove fans wrong.
Yes. We won’t win another game with Shapen.Honest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
NoHonest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
My guess is Luke will be our starter & Taylor will get the full blown Tebow FR role so many wanted him to have this year. I don’t see him being ready to start before year 3.Luke will probably be somewhere else next year & KT will the QB at MSU
We may not. But our only chance to win another game is with Shapen. So he’ll play.Yes. We won’t win another game with Shapen.
Too bad we don’t have a Dan Mullen type offense, KT and Kromenhoek would be the perfect fit.
I “learned” this the last two years watching Texas and wondering why they didn’t play Arch more. Now we know why; he ain’t real good.Honest answer. The coaches know way better than we do.
NoHonest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
If Shapen were to get hurt, I think we’d see Luke lose the redshirt and start. KT’s role wouldn’t change much.I think similar to Leach, Lebby needs a mobile QB to run his offense for it to maximize its effectiveness. I’d like to see him give KT a couple of series every game. Wish he’d been doing it. He’s an injury away from starting now, just like MVB last year, and he’s got better tools. If he’s the/a plan for QB1 next year, it would be nice to give him more experience than the occasional QB draw on short yardage. Since we saw MVB come in and do it, no way KT can’t.
Of course! Why would youHonest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
Yes, and think what would happen if we went exclusively with him as QB1 ... His turn will come later.Taylor almost threw an interception on his deflected TD pass. Got lucky should have be intercepted.
Best case scenario. We win 2 of next 4 with Shapen and get a bowl bid. Then, we play KT exclusively bowl prep week and during bowl game.Honest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
If we see another QB signed that is experienced, older and to be put ahead of those 2, they will undoubtedly both transfer outWouldn’t surprise me to see another qb from the portal signed with KT and Luke riding the bench again. Or one of those transferring out.
And if we do, that's probably a good thing because we're not doing that unless we think we can sign someone better, or we know that one or both of them are transferring out anyway. If we see another QB signed that is experienced, older and to be put ahead of those 2, they will undoubtedly both transfer out

It's not going to happen. IF we make a bowl game (unlikely), Taylor and Kromenhauk will get a lot of work during bowl practice. But Shapen will play the bowl game.that would be a real pos move to bench the qb who got us to a bowl game.
If you're going to do this, go ahead and bench everyone who is likely leaving after 2025. Don't know why you'd restrict it to QB.Honest question. Would it help us in the long run to bench Shapen and start developing KT and Luke for next year?
Jackson Arnold is definitely going to transfer out. Not sure he would do any better under Lebby than Freeze, but I could see him moving to Starkville. And if we do, that's probably a good thing because we're not doing that unless we think we can sign someone better, or we know that one or both of them are transferring out anyway.
You're really watching the players/coaches on the bench that much? Sounds weird.I pray KT doesn't transfer out.

Lord I hope not. On both counts.Jackson Arnold is definitely going to transfer out. Not sure he would do any better under Lebby than Freeze, but I could see him moving to Starkville.
i could also see Arch Manning moving to Oxford because Texas is definitely going for a QB in the portal!
We literally put the ball in his hand late in that game. It didn’t go well.I don’t agree with this. If he can’t even make a simple read now, what makes you think he will develop into the next Lamar? I think he was woefully overrated. it’s not like Noxubee County plays and beats the best in the State. Don Smith is the last QB at State that came from a small school and was misused early in his career.
Dak came from a big school.
Fitzgerald came from a big school.
van Buren came from a big school.
Schader came from a big school.
346 yds and 3 TDs say he ain't real bad either for a first year starting QB in the SEC.I “learned” this the last two years watching Texas and wondering why they didn’t play Arch more. Now we know why; he ain’t real good.
He’s 14th in SEC total QB rating. Just behind Shapen & ahead of Arnold & Lagway.346 yds and 3 TDs say he ain't real bad either for a first year starting QB in the SEC.
That's cool. It's his first year. This is Shapen's 5th year. It takes a WHOLE season to develop a solid SEC QB who's starting for his first time. Arch is a freshman in every sense of the word in Texas's offense. He's got 2 more seasons to play there. He is 6'4", good arm strength, and runs as well as any QB on our roster. Lagway and Arnold are experienced QBs also. I dread to say what Arch will do to us in Austin next year. If he's not tearing it up by then, I will agree with you. He’s 14th in SEC total QB rating. His first Starting year. You don't read too well do ya?It’s his 3rd year.
