Interesting show.

I’m a Jake Fromme fan now. Ball busting older brother but genuinely nice to everyone else in the world. Freshman brother is QB2 ...

Miami’s new QB, product of Bishop Gorman, Tate Martell ... that boy is a Prima Donna - not a total *** - but for sure a Bro, like his meathead father.

Watch Season 2, made me understand how Justin Fields was not able to uproot Jake Fromm as the starter. 2 very different types of competitors. I'd much rather Jake Fromm on my team after watching this, just seems like a better leader on/off the field.

Weird comment I heard in the show was that Justin scored a 20 on the ACT, retook it and got a 29 after his dad threatened to take his truck away if he didn't get a minimum of a 25... Either that conversation was just totally inaccurate, or there are red flags all over that.

Fields did not come off as a bad kid - I just think that Fromme is THAT GOOD - as a player and maybe even better leader.

The ACT number stood out - BUT, take it early junior year and you might just be starting Algebra II and chemistry. Take it in the summer going into senior year - AND A TESTING SERVICE THAT TAILORS HELP TO YOU BASED ON RESULTS - you're that much more prepared.

Right - not a bad kid. Fromm is just that much better IMO. That's a fair point to the ACT, they just made it seem in that conversation like it was an issue of he didn't try until his dad threatened to take away his toys type of issue.

Bosco did kinda screw their QB. I don’t blame him for having his procedure and moving on to college if they dump him like that.

Coach is not in it for the kids at all.

Nice angle in the Wake Forrest kid moving to Oceanside, SC - earning the program’s first win under a new coach, which was his previous coach.

Sure, Dad traveled in for a game or two - but MeThinks Coach was banging Mom ... thus the leap to follow him there. Maybe her babysitting the D coach’s baby girl was a “friend of the program” type arrangement.

Something was going on with that dynamic that was not addressed fully.

Ok - then why does mom take her D1 Wake Forest-committed son from a school where he had success to follow this coach to a second year program? He already has the ride!

She just want new scenery? The boy wanted to leave THAT girl who traveled to see him for homecoming?

Shoot!

Mama moved the kid away from the father making it hard to watch his senior year. The two parents never interact ... she hates him for something.

Or she’s banging transplanted coach. Maybe that’s true reason he left town and the old gig.

  1. Pretty cool article about Sam if you are looking for more material to read in the off-season. Kind of helps explains some of the reasons for the transfer.

Maybe bosco screwed the kid, but from how the filmmakers portrayed it it was defensible to make the switch. Seemed like the soph was at least as good as the senior and the team responded to him better. He seemed like a better leader, more coachable, and every bit as talented. Probably better thrower and stronger runner just not as fast.

Of course, Mitchell looking like a pouty prima Donna could have been played up by the filmmakers and not a fair depiction.

Same thing with Martell . Based on how he was portrayed I'd be shocked if he ever led a program to anything meaningful.

Fromm is the real deal though. Kinda guy you want to play with and for.

Just as an added note....the soph QB who replaced him is a 5 star recruit

It seems like Re-al Dad was more upset then he was. Telling him your not playing anymore. I know the show left out a ton but from what I saw, he wasn’t cutting it against the top teams. He seemed very athletic though. Instead of rotating them I would have kept the Soph at QB and moved Re-al to slot and kept them both on the field.
