Kaelin started a game at UVa and Lateef started 4 games. Colandrea was Mt West POY. Is the QB room in better shape this year than last year?

Probably since we got rid of a quitter and his uncle.Kaelin started a game at UVa and Lateef started 4 games. Colandrea was Mt West POY. Is the QB room in better shape this year than last year?
I'm not sure the QB room now vs last year matters. I am not expecting this team to get bowl eligible. Hope I am wrong.
My gut says it’s a year away. Junior year Lateeef is the guy - which was the plan all along.I still have faith that Lateef will be our eventual starter.

You can’t deny we have QB this year that have more game experience in case the starter goes down.Maybe.
I agree and I really like the addition of Kaelin. I’m just not sure Coleandra’s success at LV will translate to the B1G. Should be fun to watch and I’m not going to be upset if he struggles. Raiola left us in a tough spot but I like what we have. You can’t deny we have QB this year that have more game experience in case the starter goes down.
Which wasn’t the case last season.
We have a dedicated quarterbacks coach.No.
Colandrea's best coaching/leadership occurred at UNLV.
Hoping to be wrong, but I will be shocked if he is effective.
Here's to hoping this is actually true. We're probably going on close to a decade and a half without a real QB competition - either due to lack of enough talent in the room or from having the position being annointed to a recruit or transfer. It will be refreshing to have a QB competition.
But if the OL isn't a huge step up from last year, bringing in Pat Mahomes to play under center next season wouldn't make the slightest difference.
Mobile is different than running. QBs can be mobile without running people over. They can slide to avoid contact. We need speed at this position for the RPO to work and our rushing game to flourish, but TJ and Anthony are small guys, both 205lbs, maybe, so I worry about their health over course of the season. Danny will be competing for the job, so I hope he gives a huge lift in the position.
I vote yes, this is a slight improvement if these guys are not demolished in the pocket.
Trae says hi.My gut says it’s a year away. Junior year Lateeef is the guy - which was the plan all along.
Does it seem like he’s too laid-back? Does anyone know if he smokes a lot of pot?I still have faith that Lateef will be our eventual starter.
I think Trae is going to be a stud - if Rhule still here in 2027 - I think the seat is going to be too hot to start a freshman IMOTrae says hi.
j/k….kind of.. Huge ask of a true Frosh I know I know …

I don’t think he ever starts there unless it’s because of injuryI think Raiola will go on to have an incredible year when he does start at Oregon. He may even be the #1 overall pick in the draft type of guy.
That said - I do still believe for us, it wasn't the right fit. Both for our current play caller, and our current roster.
I like the return to a dynamic play maker under center who can move the ball with his legs. Whether or not we chose the right guy, TBD. But on paper I like the move.
Didn't he state in his interview when he transferred to Millard South that it was basically going to a be "redshirt" season for him..I heard he wants to RS.
I can’t imagine playing football with a distaste for contactDo we even run true RPO?
We give up some passing accuracy but gain some illusiveness. Dylan was zero threat on a zone read. The play may have multiple options of hand off, QB keep, throw or some type of reverse. With Dylan the D had to respect none of that. They did not have have anyone in the middle just in case, that was one of five times in the year he decided to take off.
When I saw the video of Dylan talking about how he didn't play FB early on because he didn't like contact, told me all I needed to know.
1). Do you mean his uncle who couldn’t develop a line to allow the offense to do anything?1) Raiola didn't leave Nebraska in a bad spot. Nebraska coaches put the team in a bad spot.
2) If there isn't a true QB competition in the spring & fall, Rhule needs to be ran out of town.
3) It's Year 4 for Rhule and he is still trying to find an offensive identity. Not a good look.
Also on Rhule.1). Do you mean his uncle who couldn’t develop a line to allow the offense to do anything?
He tried to build the whole team around an entitled freshman who’s uncle couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag. Yes - a lot on Rhule too. Also on Rhule.
I thought there were whispers/rumors of other players that were not very fond of DR? Glad he's gone and his uncle. He tried to build the whole team around an entitled freshman who’s uncle couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag. Yes - a lot on Rhule too.
I think it was telling that no one left with DR or because of him.
I never heard that and body didn’t like Dylan but jealous disdain was inevitable.I thought there were whispers/rumors of other players that were not very fond of DR? Glad he's gone and his uncle.
What is your response to EJ being pretty good and going to the draft? All him, no help?1). Do you mean his uncle who couldn’t develop a line to allow the offense to do anything?
Yea, we do it on occasion together.Does it seem like he’s too laid-back? Does anyone know if he smokes a lot of pot?
I do think TJ gets another chance, but not this year. I'm looking for DK to battle TJ for the #2 spot this year. I think DK wins that one too.Does it seem like he’s too laid-back? Does anyone know if he smokes a lot of pot?
Obviously he had help but a lot of it was EJ. He took a ton of snaps, was durable and a work ethic that wouldn’t stop. What is your response to EJ being pretty good and going to the draft? All him, no help?
