There's more to come out I'm sure, but according to that report the arrest was for no DL and disregarding a traffic control device. You get arrested for that?

Assuming that's all and that Quay just didn't have his license on him, then that's some BS.

I did the exact same thing at least once. University PD pulled me over for rolling through a stop sign at about 5:30 a.m. on my way to the gym. I had left my license at home. He let me go with a "don't do it again / be careful now."

Does that get a game suspension, or so?

He Might be a little slow on the uptake...

or is this more recent? No dates and times noted.

That's just ridiculous. If traffic were an arrestable offense, I'd be a repeat offender and serving life without parole.

I'm surprised he didn't have to spend a week in jail for that. The horror of it all.

Actually it wasn't over running a stop sign. Apparently it was for
removing or attempting to remove a boot from his car. Not exactly the brightest move in the world.

Where do you see the boot thing? Bonner's article specifies running a stop sign at around 3.

I'm not saying you're wrong or he's wrong, but that's not being reported anywhere else (as of now.)

It also doesn't make sense. If you're removing a boot, then you aren't driving and, thus, do not need a license.

Unless he tried to drive off, that is all I can think of. I'm just reporting what David Murray was saying on Genespage about it.

I'm not digging at you, since you're just bringing in another source. But Paul Jones is saying there was no boot issue. It sounds like Murray got bad info or made a bad guess.

This "arrest" may not be legit, but there's no doubt trouble seems to find this guy.

Any traffic violation is an arrestable offense, but the practice isn't as common as issuing a citation and allowing the motorist to continue on. The issuance of a citation is a courtesy. Depositing your driver license in lieu of bond is also an option, sometimes required of people from out-of-town.

Don't know about anywhere else, but you can be arrested (and will be) for not having your DL with you. And that's during a routine traffic stop; if it's a moving violation, it's probably even worse.
