I was talking with my old roommate this morning. He goes to schoolat Ole Missand claims to have all of these connections which I really don't question, however I do know that he is a member of the Spirit (which may explain his behavior). Anyway, he was notJUST determined to convice me that Ole Miss was going to flip Kailo Moore, he was obnoxiously determined. To the point where he insisted we put money on it. I didn't argue, nor did I make the bet because a flip wouldn't surprise me one bit and, well, I just don't want to take a chance on losing my money. This dude was borderline angry trying to get his point across.

I've gotten the typical pompous shots from him the past few years, so I'm not sure if this was some more fluff. What was all of that about though?

Or drugs. At the very least peopleon the Spiritwould influence his behavior. I mean, I never argued with him. Never said that he was wrong. He just kept biting my head off.

Anyway, just wondering if there was any truth to Kailo flipping, too, because he was so confident about it.

We're in good shape with several in state guys right now including. It's July though. Theres no telling what could change between now and then.

The kid committed to us because they like Mullen. I like our chances to sign him, but you never say never in recruiting.

I have to think as the season goes on, there will be less temptation to flip to Mississippi. They're up for a horrific season.

Kailo seems really solid right now. He and his mom love Mullins and Dudley (our track coach). Track is VERY, VERY important to him. He has dreams of running in theOlympicssome day. I'd be as bold as to say that he knows track is smarter long term plan for him. And our track team has been very good as of late. The biggest telling thing for me was the fact he brought some of his family down to Starkville when he made his announcement to the staff. This wasn't a Snoop "3rd-hand-over-the-phone-the-same-nite-as-my-teammate" type of commitment. He made the announcement in front of his mom and our staff.<div>
</div><div>Now, money talks and ******** walks, but I think Mullins learned his lesson when it comes to our high profile recruits and UM. He'll be ready.</div>

They are just playing the cards against our CJ insecurity.

Kailo initially committed to OM. We were his 2nd commitment. While flipping is not all that rare, flipping back is pretty uncommon. Quay did the same thing and stuck with us.

Let go of the 2011 recruiting class. We got schooled by a perfect storm of negative circumstances, but be assured that alot of changes have been made to assure that it won't happen like that again...

But I think most kids in MS that decide between MSU and OM usually place pretty little emphasis on the following years on the field results. I remember Yancy saying in the summer/fall of 2010 "The Egg Bowl is very important this year. If we lose, you'll find me sitting at the bottom of the ocean, because it might be the deciding factor amongst alot of the state's top talent."

Well, a few months later we win the EB in Oxford and then in January, they sign a big instate class (Brassell, CJ, etc). Maybe the class turns out to be a huge bust, I'm just saying that on the field performance, at least to me, doesn't seem to weight very heavily on kids ultimate decision.

Moore committed to State, Yancy already had him counted as 'in the boat.' All of a sudden State went from 2 to 10 commits including Moore ... plus Mix from SP and the the Spirit'rites went 'batshit' crazy.

I got 'no clue' if Moore will stick with State or not BUT I do know that since Nutt left Porter's cred has really suffered ... to the point where he makes Rosebowl look like Nostradamus.

And Freeze knows it, just look at their commit list. We'll get 9-10 of the Dandy Dozen. Mullen has been very smart in capitalizing on locking down MS. It will pay off this year, Freeze will have to work very hard to get back in the High Schools and make connections.

Times are changing. This year the entire South Panola team came to Starkville for camp. That has never happened before, I think in the past the only place they have gone is to Ole Miss. And they didn't take their team up there this year. In fact word is that Freeze has somehow burned bridges in Batesville. For this reason I think we lead for Conner over Ole Miss. I think Bama is in play but not as much as people think. And I wouldn't rule out Shumpert either, although he may want to go to a seperate school from Conner.</p>

bringing his mother and crew to Starkville to commit says alot about where the kid stands. Them losing their last 7 games of the season to finish 3-9 wont help their cause any either.

to recruit like crazy Ed, so if that doesn't happen they will be a Sunbelt team in a man's conference.....in other words, Archay will be trying to persuade Tony Dungy and Jon Gruden again in a few seasons. I agree with the above poster that said Mullen will not fall for the CJ, Brassel, Singleton mess again. I think that pissed him off and gave him an even more vested interest in beating their ***. I'm not going to get wooly yet because signing day is a long way off, but if we land Kailo, Shumpert, Conner, Mix, etc.....football season could really be special in Starkville sooner than we think. Gotta applaud the effort of this coaching staff, it seems like they have made it their mission to change the tides of recruiting in this state.

So I think he'd perhaps want somewhere he could shine without having to compete against Connor. I've just seen this a fwe times on other boards. Pure speculation at this point.</p>

distant city someone better damn well have a handle on our recruits because we know what will happen. I think Mullen learned his lesson.

have given the Bear faithful a false sense that they can get a guy from us anytime they really want to. I think Mullen and staff have learned their lessons though from a couple of years ago and are much better at minding the chicken coup from the foxes so to speak. Its possible that he could flip, just like its possible with any recruit, but I'll be surprised by it with him especially since his family is fully on board with him to come to MSU.

Unless we have a bad season, which seems pretty unlikely, I don't see any incentive for Moore to play for the gay bears. It will take a few more years of dominating them on the field for reality to set in.

The ability to ignore the fact that some recruit 'flipping' hasnt meant a thing in a long time for them.

Your spirit junkie friend probably doesnt believe it matters much either....except for one thing......if he can 'punk' you out about it and make you think the kid 'flipping' is important, he gets a few minutes of fun.

THen the season starts and he has to wait until december and January when his team isnt playing again with all the flipped players from the last 4 years.
