Anyone know what is typical for someone in the MSU marching/concert band as far as scholarships go? I remember back in the day, it was little to nothing.

Depends really... When I was there I earned a whopping $250 per semester. If you were serious and wanted to prepare for an audition you could earn maybe $500-$1000. When I was there most people I knew were of the $250 variety. In it to go to away games and what not. If I remember correctly I got another $200 for basketball band, which to me was crazy for just showing up for a game and getting to go to SEC and NCAA tourneys with all expenses paid.

I enrolled in 2006 and my scholarship was $1,000 a semester.

You can get up to $1,500 if you know you will be doing Wind Ensemble every semester and are pretty good. This is pretty typical but I would say most get around $500 to $1,000 per semester. And if you do basketball pep band you get an extra $200 bucks. Not sure if that has changed since 2010 when I graduated.

I also got all of my out if state tuition waived, which was about $21,000. But there were minimum requirements of a 24 ACT and a 3.0 core GPA that I had to meet. They won't just waive it for anyone out of state, but for most a 24 ACT and 3.0 core GPA isn't a problem.
