Do y'all like having different boards for different sports? I personally don't like it but I noticed genespage did that for the premium boards.

the Genespage split board started because Scout does not have a tab for baseball recruiting. Several people (myself included) requested that some type of board be created so that we could keep up with the recruits (similar to the Bones board that archives the nightly bones). I assume it evolved from there as the new boards started out as recruiting boards for baseball and basketball. I personally do not like it. The problem it creates is that if you like to get an idea what is going on in the big three MSU sports you have to go back and forth between several boards. However I know that there are several people that only care about one of the sports. Therefore they probably love it. Finally, I have noticed that several other schools have already done the split to include boards for a particular sport that may be popular for that school only (ie women's basketball for UT).

There would be way too many boards. I think we talk about more sports than they do.

I like it better this way.

Maybe we could have a soccer only board, though. (sarcasm)

while there is a great increase in traffic here, there still aren't really enough posts or new threads even during busy months to warrant a new forum. You can generally read the first 2 pages and you'll start finding dead threads that haven't been posted in over the last 12-24 hours.

I don't like. I think a lot of other sites do this because ad revenue can be driven by page hits and splitting the sports among multiple boards would result in more hits.

If you split it up, you would have some dead boards and some active ones. You'd also have dubmasses posting baseball questions on the football board, of course.

Is there any better way to see an entire thread of posts in the order they are posted, and to which post replies to which, other than running the cursor over the post title and getting to read about 1/3 of the actual post?

Nice run-on sentence and random commas, huh? Its obviously not a big deal, just curious.

I just click on the initial reply to which there are replies.

That makes sense doesn't it?

clicking on several different convos within a thread to get everything in context gets annoying. Just wondering if there was a better way I didnt know about

I second that. That is my only gripe about the board.

One board exclusively for: C34, Blew, DustinDawg, and the other posters of high caliber.

The other board exclusively for non-trolling, normal posters.

Question: Let's say there are two or more conversations going on in the same thread. As it stands now, if I click the initial reply to view one of the conversations every one of the "new" indicators is gone when I go back to the main board. Is there a way to set things up where only the posts I actually read lose their "new" indicator as opposed to every post that was new before I clicked on the initial reply? This isn't really a big deal but that would make it easier to only see the new posts.

it eliminates the amount of clicks I have to make to find information. I can quick scan the front page and click on whatever I want and skip what I want

I like the fact that everything is one one board....

My only suggestion for changes would be to change the background to something other than plain white to make it a little easier on the eyes.

there could be the one regular board and then a separate board for the seemingly never-ending threads about which is better, cable or satellite... with the occasional thread about which cell phone and/or company is better.

Like everybody else said, keep it the way it is. I'm way too lazy to navigate through separate football, basketball, baseball, and other boards. Not to mention, only the board that was in season would have much traffic anyway.
