I know most of you on here, including myself, have Dooley a good ways down your list, but in a scenario that he was to be croom's successor what should his salary be. I just don't think he is ready yet, but at least he is not the running backs coach for the Green Bay Packers.

I couldn't see his salary being more than 1.1 million.

than he is now when he took over at Georgia. Dooley has a very good football lineage. His uncle played at State and was successful at several schools, including North Carolina, Virginia Tech and somewhere else. His dad and his uncle are old now , but their wisdom probably isn't. Would Byrne be taking a chance? Yes, but that's up to him.. Georgia took a big chance on his dad, and guess you could say that it worked out.

kind of guy. I would much rather have a good offensive coordinator from a major program like Florida. But you never know, we may be forced to go with a La Tech man. :( And your right, no more than 1.1 for a guy like that.

He hasn't had the kind of season to make you say Wow. He would be a big upgrade from Croom but so would about 60 or 70 other people. He would maybe make a list of 15 or 20. If he got the job I could see him being our Coach O pick, someone you end up with after getting turned down a lot.

Naturally he doesn't have alot of excitement for him or everybody wouldn't be wondering why his name is even out there. I would take him after Tommy Bowden shot us down and Tommy would be way down on my list.</p>

..I remember before Byrne hired Cohen, many on this board were swearing up & down that Tommy Raffo would take Rolk's job because "it's the Miss. State way to hire within & avoid doing a national search."

Well, I am here to tell you if Byrne hires Dooley, it will be the Tommy Raffo scenario all over again.

Except this time we get Tommy Raffo as a football coach instead of a baseball coach.

if we get him, I think it would be because we got turned down by a number of other coaches.
