Question about MSU basketball and 'what we learn' from previous games.

Veazey ended his column today with a pretty interesting quote.....

Sure, Georgia isn't bad, but to be out-rebounded by 14 and outscored in the paint by 28? Ouch. The Bulldogs may very well learn enough from this week's near losses to patch those holes. They have a week to do it. State is off in the middle of next week before heading to Alabama on Saturday.
So my question is this........Do you think our team will simply play it's game and hope for the same results of the last 2 games OR will we LEARN ENOUGH from this weeks near losses and 'patch those holes'?

I'm thinking if we dont patch those holes and get better at keeping other teams better players out of the paint and playing a better brand of defense we are in for some rough times against the UT's, UK's and maybe even Arkansas and Bama.

rebounding is about intensity and effort. Yesterday, for much of the game, we did not have it. We seemed quite lackadaisical in our approach and with a lineup like we have there is no way we will win very many rebounding stats. We can and must be much more competitive than yesterday. I really believe the Thursday/Saturday schedule makes it more difficult for a team; legs are a little tired and emotion is flat coming off a Thursday game to play on Saturday. I do not think most people realize the mental/emotional toll these games take on teams. MSU is one of the teams talented enough to win the West or perhaps the overall title, but with its best lineup on the floor, it has to be the team with the toughest disposition game in and game out. It is not a lineup that provides good matchups so it has to be the one who wants it more than the other. We must get mentally tougher; if we don't we could hit an extended losing skid.

...examples given would be Ole Miss playing on the road taking UT to OT & Kentucky barely getting by Auburn.

I realize the sixpack basketball experts demand a coach who can blow every conference foe out by 30 points, but if you want that, maybe you should form a search committe with coach34 in order to make that happen. Submit your findings to Ninja by March 13th.
