I was reading the Clarion Ledger this morning about Masoli. They mentioned that someone in the Ole Miss athletic department (compliancedirector maybe)wouldn't comment on Masolibecause NCAA regulations prohibit talking about prospective student athletes. I knew this rule. We all know that coaches, etc. can't talk about recruits.
In another article today, Comegy (JSU head coach) specifically mentions ex-Ole Miss wideout Patterson. He says he is a good player and that he has tried to contact him about transferring to JSU. Wouldn't this be a violation for Comegy to specifically mention Patterson? Are Division I-AA schools governed differently? Does the NCAA look the other way on Division I-AA schools or "historically black" schools? Of course, I would assume this would be a minor violation, and nobody really cares. I'm just curious
