Question about the vaccine/masks

Deaths "related" to covid are not actually deaths OF covid. Notice how "other" causes of death have dropped since they call it covid related. So point being, are deaths really just at an annual average? Odd this pandemic can't go past 6 ft, odd it cannot go around the plexi glass barriers. Odd it's not on basketball courts or football fields, but really lingers on the sidelines..Odd that a fart can go through a pair of Duluth underwear AND levi jeans, but this mask keeps covid out....Hmmmm
Great post about vaccines and masks. This point has been brought up ad infinitum for the past 10 months in the main COVID thread. Thanks for bringing it up in this thread as well. Solid work.

I’ve been anxiously anticipating when this thread would dissolve in to general bitching and it looks like we’re here. Great job, everyone.

I'm about out of patience with wearing masks. I am definitely out of patience when it comes to legislative branches telling me what decisions I should make and limiting my ability to function normally. Tell me facts about the disease and then let me decide what amount of risk I want to incur. I can't believe there has not been more pushback to date, but I highly doubt we get through summer without this blowing up if there isn't a light at the end of the tunnel yet.

Then why not delete it and repost it there? You know and I know that you were trying to spread your BS outside of the meaningless PT playpen echo chamber to a new thread and got caught.

Nice try, tootse.

Nah I’ll keep it here since it triggers you so much. Got “caught” lmao

My brother has never worn a mask other than the have to’s when going in somewhere. Just recently within the last two weeks started wearing one all the time only to now test positive for the China flu. Maybe some truth from those who preach mask are bad because they handicap your immune system. Not one thing new to his everyday routine. Not one thing

Same story everywhere. Everything is being diagnosed as covid. It has spoiled the data we are collecting.

because when it’s “ covid related” they can collect more money. It’s a big money game. More money for covid is a given nowadays.. a head blown off suicide is covid related. Write that down

Imagine holding off on wearing a mask from March 2020 until just two weeks ago. "Welp, after 10 months I've finally completed all my research, and I've come to the conclusion that a mask covering your nose and mouth may actually help limit the spread of an airborne virus. What a breakthrough!" And then you get the 'rona. Damn, in all seriousness I hope he's okay.

Maybe some truth from those who preach mask are bad because they handicap your amune system.

C'mon man. Do better.

Well shoot man, you've gone ahead and broken this thing wide open: masks don't prevent the 'rona, they actually cause it! Please alert your Facebook news feed pronto!

This.

But the masks have also helped cut down on the flu, so they still have benefit even if the vaccine completely prevented you from carrying COVID. I know the flu isn't as bad as COVID, but I had a bad case of the flu once, I sure as hell rather wear a mask than get the flu again.
Did u really just say mask have helped cut down on the flu?

Doesn’t seem to be helping covid 🤷‍♂️

Based on what? Have you done any studies on what the infections, infection rate, deaths/hospitalizations and those respective rates would look like without social distancing and mask usage? Or are you just talking out of your ***?

17,000 people wearing seatbelts die in car accidents in a year... doesn't seem like they're working, right? 🤷‍♂️

I heard a couple of people talking about their spouses who are essential workers taking the vaccine. According to them the 2nd shot wound up making both of them pretty sick for a couple of days. From what they were saying others at their companies did as well. It sounds like the 2nd shot, which is a stronger dose, is making folks sick so if you take it be prepared. Our school system is planning to give it to teachers within a couple of weeks. My guess is they may have to shut school down for 2-3 days if a bunch get sick at the same time.

Some of my coworkers didn't feel well for about 24 hrs after the second dose. Others, including myself didn't have any problems.

There’s no $$ in getting the flu.

And I’ll drive anywhere in the state to get the vaccine. But that’s just me. Release that **** and let’s go

I am still completely blown away that a virus with a 99.986% chance of survival OVERALL is worth shutting everyones life down. (Number based on overall deaths by overall cases). This data also doesn't take comorbidities or false cause of death data into account.

Where did you get that info? I've thought both doses were the same amount & strength. Thanks.
It is the exact same dose. The effects may be felt more because your immune system has been primed by the first dose to fight off the stuff that comes with the second.

It’s a hypothesis as to why some people are having bad reactions to the first dose. They already had mild / unnoticeable COVID infections (and passed it around unknowingly), and their body already knows how to fight it. But the vaccine immunity provided has proven to be more effective than the antibodies created from infection.

A little common sense here folks........if the second dose was any different than the first dose.....they wouldn't be able to take the doses that they were going to hold back for second doses and use them for the first dose....I can see how the Dems buffalo some of you people.......

The one guy, whose wife is a nurse and had gotten sick, said it. I assume she had told him that but can't say for sure. I know from the conversation I heard that neither of those folks had any effects from the 1st shot but both had gotten sick with the 2nd. I, unlike most of you, am not a COVID vaccine expert and can or cannot attest to dosages, reactions or other things.

No one is purporting to be a vaccine expert.......just common sense....You are the one posting antidotes about the vaccine with "assumptions".......my wife is a RRT (21yrs) she got her first shot 12/28 and will get her second dose tomorrow......I just go by what she passes on to me and what I glean from where ever........my wife was sick for about 24-36 hrs after her first shot.....we will see about the second dose......she knows for absolutely sure that it won't be as bad as getting the Wuflu........other vaccines might affect others differently....

By assuming I meant I assume his wife told him. I didn't assume anything else related to the virus as I am not an expert and didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night but stated what the folks I overheard say.

From the people I have personally spoken to that have taken it it seems they have gotten sick from one or the other but not both. Hopefully the 2nd shot doesn't affect your wife since the 1st one did.
