Question about Zeidaks(sp?)

Marshmallow tweeted a few of Steeles comments on Zeidaks....it was something to the effect of," he's a strong guy that should be able to give us some rebounds next year, and some shots too." This will sound ******, but if you're describing a guys Bball ability and the first thing u think of is rebounds, and shots are an after thought, it immediately makes me think he is John Reik 2.0. But hopefully it was just the way it was worded.

Does anybody have a clue what to expect from this guy next season? I'm just wondering if we have a diamond in the rough type of guy, a Big Feces (which would actually make me happy at this point), or even worse a Reik? With so many sources on this board I figure someone has to have heard something.

That guy sucked.**

or defensive ability....but then again I don't know what was said about Vincent before his first year either. However, I do remember people saying Reik was big, strong and could rebound, but scoring was an afterthought. Hence why he came to mind like he did. Vincent wasn't an offensive threat but he was athletic enough to score and get offensive put backs. Ran the floor pretty well too from what i remember. Needless to say, we would all gladly take another Vincent.

but the guy was playing with profesionals in Lithuania or wherever he is from, so I would assume he's got a great sense for the game and can play a pretty good bit too. And like many have posted about Riek, its not fair to judge him by what we saw. His knees were destroyed, and like said in the article I posted earlier people had him projected as a lottery pick before his injury. I mean Jarvis wasn't an offensive threat either, and we were glad to have him. I realize Zeidaks isn't a shot blocker, but I'm just saying you don't have to be a scorer to be valuable.

if you've ever seen him in person he looks physically better than anyone on our roster. Dude just looks like a baller. Got a bunch of tats too (not even sure what that means)

If you've never seen him, here he is. You can follow him on twitter @Zeicha_ (he's the white one for dubmasses)

You're right, that picture alone wipes out the Reik thought. I honestly know nothing about the guy, and that's the first time I've ever seen a picture of him. Glad to hear that he "looks like a baller"....hopefully he learned more of a team style game over seas..taking charges, good passer, blocking out, etc. Could be just the type of guy Ray needs for his style of play.

More like Peter Stelmach; another Euro crackerjack who is too accustomed to that extra step in the lane....If we are hoping Kristers is our saving grace, we are truly 17'd

Freedog: put Wendell in that picture and you have our starting 5....FML....
I laughed. I would agree, we are pretty 17ed. One positive not being examined is that if we only have 5 players they should be a tight knit group

Kristers still has to sit half the season
Thanks, Skb, but as it is, I'm already planning on being dick-deep in a bottle of Glenlivet for most of the Bball season next year.

He'll be good. No Moultrie but I think he'll be our 3rd highest scoring player next season after sitting out. He held his own in Europe from what I've heard, which is why were in the situation were in with him.

Someone posted a video of him on one of the sites I'm on. Don't remember which it was. He looked athletic enough to me.

...he is very skilled and can shoot the 3, however, he is not as quick or fast as a lot of guys really athletic guys. Think Kurt Rambis physical skills. He won't out jump many, but he is fundamentally very sound, has good footwork, will block out and can be a blue collar guy on the boards. He will be better on defense than some think, because he plays it technically very sound. He may get beaten down the floor now and then, but it won't be because of lack of effort.

And the national flag of Latvia is:

I once spent a few days in Latvia several years ago visiting friends a few years ago. Riga's a nice city but I'm sure it's changed a lot since I was over there.

To hell with traditional basketball sets, I say we go with a 5 guard lineup this year.

If so, I am going to respond simply so I can say I have interacted with one. Y'all were rather elusive fellas. What the hell actually took place inside of that house? Has to be some good stories.
