Question: Does the "love" from State fans for Bump and Cox take a hit?

If it turns out to be something we get punished for hell yeah I'm pissed. IF they knowingly broke the rules, are now gone and can't be touched and the university takes the wrath I'm pissed.

They just got caught unfortunately. This happens a lot more than is reported by a Charles Robinson type.

Come on, it's not like they took thousands of dollars to sign autographs or anything.

Would not be mad at them because this and worse happens at every power conference school in America. Who I would be pissed at is ourathletic department and compliance department for letting us get punished. I want a Baghdad Bob type in compliance that can hold a press conference with bombs going off in the background and still have the cajones to say that there are no Americans in our country...there is no war. That all those buildings that you drove by that are piles of smouldering rubble were the result of termite damage and nothing more.

What do you think?

Only if they didn't do exactly what the university asked at this point. If they for some reason took the approach of, "NCAA can't touch me, screw what happens to MSU", I'd be pissed. I am as pretty much positive neither Cox nor Bumphis would take this approach. I am not positive that MSU will give them good guidance, but that's not their fault.

I'm indifferent. Fletcher is an odd character of sorts. MSU has been so bad that usually the most popular player is the guy who connects with the fans. Dixon needs no explanation... but Banks is the same way. Not on the same level of craziness but Banks was all about trolling fans and things on twitter. To a severely lesser extent Bumphis was kind of that guy... cool dude, loved the fans, went on radio shows... above average receiver but considered by most a lot better than he was because they "knew" him. Cox is one of the best players to come through MSU and I don't know if it's because he played a non-skill position of what but I doubt anyone who hasn't made a personal connection with him knows his personality. It's just kind of meh. So in that sense I think I could be mad at Cox but be less mad at Bump... if that make sense.

On the other hand I know where Cox is from. I've seen where he grew up and where he called home while all this allegations happened. I can't be mad at a guy coming from that environment taking money when a sleaze in a nice suit offers it to him. Bump to a lesser extent, but same story.

I'd be mad at the situation, not players. I'd chalk it up as another unfortunate story in MSU compliance. I'd be down with a witch hunt for the agent though... throw a brick through his office window or something? Anyone?
