You said this sometime during the last couple of days "words can't express my hatred for you people."

Do you really mean that? Just wondering.

that his hatred of you and your ilk prompted your whiny *** to start a thread about it. i hate you mother17ers too. and the fact that you are such a *****, that you came here to ask if he was serious, only further cements why the rest of the sporting world laughs at your pathetic ***** fanbase.<div>

other people who have a sense of entitlement. Of course not every rebel fan suffers from this problem, but enough of them do that it causes a problem. This discussion got started with the UA/Evans thread and it highlights the fact that rebels like using their positions of power to manipulate the process and other people. Dickie Scruggs and other lawyers like him would be the poster child for this. If your boosters would just let things play out and not try to orchestrate them with dirty politics, then we wouldn't be so pissed all the time. Of course, I'd hate to see how many games you lost if you actually went by the rules to some extent. One thing you guys do understand is that the average black teenager isn't very interested in oxford so you have to level the playing field in your direction some how.

It wasn't simply that another team was cheating, UM caught wind of it and turned them in. There was a systematic attack against Jackie and MSU that ended in ruining a man, his career, MSU football for a decade, all for money in the order of a couple thousand dollars. We're not talking $180,000, we are talking the same handshake cash that goes on in all football programs across the country.

Now we are forced to keep it clean(-ish) and UM is still getting their asses handed to them.

I don't hate UM, their alumni, or Oxford, but I do hope over the remainder of my lifetime we continue dominate their asses. History says the tide will shift back and forth, but that doesn't keep me from wanting revenge.

....after spending hundreds of thousands of dollars trying to bring down Coach Sherrill with their smear campaigns and Private Eyes, they're still the worst Athletic Department in the Southeastern Conference, and should be looking to drop out and goto some conference where they might be competitive in something, like Sunbelt...or Conf. USA...or the Gulf South Conference.

Maybe if they had spent all those hundreds of thousands of dollars and thousands of hours actually trying to improve their program, instead of trying to bring our program down, they might actuallyhave a decent program right now.

Yes, wemight be theLittle Brothers- the same way Michael Corleone was Fredo's little brother.

But the fact that some people literally hate a group of people over a sport, well, is pretty ridiculous.

And yes, I know both sides have people like that. Also, no whining here,I was just asking a question.

its over the fact that you go through so much trouble to turn us in for stuff every program in the country has done since the 1940's - and it didn't start with your private investigation of Jackie. When we started winning big with Tyler in the 70's you turned us in then too.
We weren't doing anything different than anybody else was (including you) but Cindy Brady University couldn't stand to see State College outdoing them.

but I grew up in the north after being born in Mississippi. I always rooted for Ole Miss for whatever reason. Then, college decision time came around, and I flew down to visit all three big schools in MS. Let me just say that the hate started to slowly develop during that trip and 8 years later it is a pretty solid hatred. I have not met one single Ole Miss person that is a pleasure to be around. In fact, most that I have encountered are pretty big ********. So, while I can't say that I hate every Ole Miss person, generally the answer to your question is yes.

I don't like any group of people who collectively think they're better than other people. And I've never understood why most of you try to act all elite anyway. Those of you who actually have enough money to matter got it through (gasp!) farming. Yes, plantations full of slaves is still farming. I could go on forever, but why? You get the drift.

the field. The hatred comes from the notion that when your school gets beaten, it resorts to RIDICULOUS measures to get back in the game. As Mutt alluded to, and as Rezpup spelled out, , if the focus of UM backers werent to bring down those around you in the form of tattling, and were about keeping coaches that win like Tubberville, you'd have far less hatred.

Then there's the attitude that when things arent going your way, you are above all this. Egg bowl isnt important, oh heavens no. Your fanbase, when staring down a 2 and 10 season has much loftier goals than paying attention to a coach who uses the word championship to get under your skin.

I'd like to think the attitude of the fanbases have both changed in light of the most recent strings of ****** seasons. but we'll go on being the rednecks and you'll go on being the harvard of the south.

But the world in general cannot stand the uppidity. c34's hatred might be a bit of overkill, but it's grounded in something other than sports.

they turned us in in the 70's after a player accepted our offer instead of their similar offer (I personally heard the father of the player describe the whole thing). That is when I started my hate of their sorry asses. Their belief that they are entitled simply pisses me off to no end.

I dont hate you people, as in particular people. I have good friends that are Ole Miss fans. I just hate the mentality your fanbase as a whole has. You completely look down on MSU fans even though we all come from the same place. Anytime MSU shows any sort of success you do what you can to bring it down(see the sherrill days, and the witch hunt involved). Ole Miss has to have the most arrogant fan base of anyone in the country that hasn't won anything in the past half century, and while it is funny, it is also annoying as hell

Sorta the way that General in"Kelly's Heroes" looked at his German counterpart. I don't think I'd go so far as"hate" Ole Miss people like Coach 34 does. However, I've always been perplexed at why Ole Miss people try to act like they're the creme-de-la-creme ofTHIS State. I can understand this sort of arrogance coming fromHarvard, Yale,U of Michigan, or even the University ofAlabama (with their 4 undisputed National Championships). But Ole Miss??

Ole Miss is supposedly the place where the political leadership is trained....and Mississippi is 50th in the nation in every economic category. Ole Miss has a 4th rate law school, good only for suing people and making ourState a ******** for attracting new business. They have a pretty good Medical Center, but it's located in Jackson and most of the teachers and students aren't OM graduates. Most folks I know who are OMgraduates either need to: Get a degree from another school to get a decent job, get a Graduate Degree, or work for someone with political connections.

The only thing that's perplexed me more is the inferiority many older State grads have towardsThe University of Ole Miss. They may "hate" them, but concede that they're better. Younger State grads and students have the proper attitude towards Ole Miss, which is that it'sa nice Ladies Finishing School, good for training young women to marry State Men.

Funny thing about Ole Miss- the "good" fans of schools like Alabama, LSU, or Tennessee tend to be actual graduates of each school while the ones that are bad ones (the ones we make fun of) have never darkened the doors of those skools.

At Ole Miss, it's the other way around- I know plenty of good Ole Miss fans who never actually went there, but because of Vaught/Manning became lifelong fans. You meet those people, you can really become a fan of the school. Then, when you actually meet the ones who actually attend skool there, THEN you develop a distaste.

I see the future of this rivalry going the way of the University of Ohio/Ohio State University rivalry...one being a small liberal arts school in a low-level Division 1 conference, while the other is a National Powerhouse in major sports.

If you had all the inside info of went on in the the Ole Miss controlled Mississippi legislature up until the last 20-30 years you would be ready to bulldoze the grove. And there was also a time when the Hederman`s contolled the publication of thr Clarion Ledger that all news relating to the universities(particularly sports) was in fact reported from a very one sided standpoint....this isn`t based on reading the newspaper or spotting black helicopters but sources that I would call in-the-know. Take my word , it really happened.

Ole Miss has always hadactive covert efforts ongoing in one way or another to hold MSU back and always will. A substantial segment of their alumni arejust thattype person. I know a bunch of Ole Miss people but I trust very few.

And some people don't remember, but they were caught cheating at the same time they were all high and mighty about Jackie. Ole Goldie's SUV that was registered to the Southaven car dealer was worth more than everything that was found on MSU during the two year investigation. Of course they skate on kicking McLendon off the team and the promise to watch for such "mistakes" in the future. <div>
</div><div>I don't hate UM folks per se. But I can't fu***in stand to be around most of them. This started with a class mate of mine that went to UM and I went to MSU. He was quickly indoctrinated into UM way of life where he wasn't from backwoods MS... he was now from royalty. All you heard about was ooooxxxxxxffffoooorrrd, the squaaarre and the grroooovvveeee. He became what i believed was an inch away from blowing Joey Langston, his self proclaimed best lawyer in MS, for a spot in his law office when he was so confident he would breeze through law school. </div><div>
</div><div>Then he flunked out of law school after spending every night on the squaaarre and had to fall back on the prestigous business degree he earned at UM, His hero Joey Langston has been exposed and disgraced, He is working as a manager at a rent to own place, I finished my Masters of Accountancy at MSU, and MSU is currently whoopin UM's *** in everything that is televised. </div><div>
</div><div>And even now he tells me I need to come hang out in the groooove when he sees me. I just laugh and tell him I would just rather go watch a good football game at a school with fans that know how to cook at their tailgate while not having heels stuck in the mud or something else stuck up their ***.</div>

...the new governor is a USM grad, and his Lt. Gov. is an MC grad who's a fan of The Mississippi State University. With the tort reform and Dickie Scruggs and Son spending time in the hoose-gow, OM has fewer resources and have a choice- try to bring State back down to their level, or pool what's left of their resources and attempt to rebuild their own program.

What with their complete disunity and in-fighting, I don't see them coming back to our level, either academically nor athletically, any time soon.

over a football rivalry. And if it is true, if you really believe that the majority of the hundreds of thousands of Ole Miss grads and fans are evil based on what team they cheer for, then you people are unbalanced in a way I cannot comprehend.

I am as big an Ole Miss fan as there is, but the vast majority of Mississippians I have dealt with in my life are good people, regardless of team affiliation, color, creed, religious beliefs or anything else. Furthermore, the vast majority of people I've met all over America and abroad also fit this bill.

And it is a really nice piece of revisionist history to say that anyone other Jackie Sherrill brought Jackie Sherrill down. The consensus on this board not all that long ago was that his reliance on JUCOs and the team's lack of discipline brought him down. When Oregon was throwing bombs on Cooper's defense, it surely wasn't Ole Miss' fault, just as it was not Mississippi State's fault that Houston Nutt crapped the bed so badly (save the three beat downs State put on Nutt).

Haven't you been reading? Everything bad that happens to MSU is OM's fault. Whether its a coach known for cheating in the SWC or a commitment getting his AA game invitation pulled. It's actually very flattering how much power you think we have. Anything bad that happens to State, you all come up with some conspiracy theory to link OM to it. That's not us thinking we are elitist, that is you all thinking we are elitist. How else could we manipulate so many situations throughout your history.
