at about $150-$200/month hosting fees to be able to handle the amount of traffic SixPack receives. The cost of the message board software such as Vbulletin is minimal. A $200 one time fee.

Yuku used to be a cheaper option but now Yuku seems to cost about $2200/year.

The problem with every other option out there is that no one has the view we use. If everyone doesn't mind switching to something like 24/7, BDJ has - then that's fine. But I really think having this view is part of what separates Sixpackspeak from the other MSU forums.

at least that's what they did with TMB I'm fairly certain.. So the SPS.com banner can still be used along with the maroon

24/7 has topic view where you only see the initial post and then have to click on it to read all the replies.

I like the view we have here b/c you get to see all the replies under a post without having to click.

I still think 24/7 developed their own software unless they took a 3rd party message board and customized it to no end.

But considering the financial backing 24/7 had - I bet it was developed in house by their own team and they didn't buy 3rd party.

And you can actually tell who replied to whom, and just read parts of threads if you want. My eyes and the little symbols tell me what's new. I don't need anymore email, I can assure you that, I already get 1,000 a day at work.

I know that's not a popular choice, most likely, but I just think it's the easiest, best looking, and least confusing, and it's not even close.
