did a guy with a bucket come by asking for "donations" for Duffy? My mom got an email today stating that he was not enlisted by the school or the organization that he claimed to be working for. Our tent fell for it as well as many others considering the amount of cash that was in the bucket. Hope this money finds its way to Duffy but I feel it was a total blunderheaded mistake on our part. Should have bought a band or made a donation through a more reputable organization. Just keep an eye out for him this weekend. I can't remember the name of the organization but I will say that he was an older white man that was balding, heavyset, carrying a clipboard, bucket and had a lanyard around his neck with a blue tag.

FANS BEWARE: NO SOLICITATION ALLOWED ON CAMPUS

Unfortunately, it appears that we have had some deception on our campus,
and it occurred on game-day in our tailgating areas. And maybe the
most despicable kind.

Someone, implying they were with a certain nationally respected group,
approached multiple tailgate areas with bucket in hand, collecting money
under the guise that it was being sent to the Ryan Duffy family.

As it turns out, the individual was not associated with the group, the
group had no knowledge of the individual’s actions, and those approached
may have assumed that it was a legitimate fund-raising opportunity.

Please be aware: No solicitation is permitted on our campus of any
kind. We request permission from the university to sell the Duffy
bands, which are available in front of Barnes & Noble and other
locations on campus. But direct money solicitation is never
permissible.

We, obviously, do not want anyone defrauded, particularly on our campus and especially under false pretenses.

Got us in lot 14 as well. Saw the guy about an hour later by the chapel of memories and asked if he was covering the entire campus. He said he had one other person helping. I really hope and want to thinkthat no one would stoop to this. If so, enjoy your ride on the hell express my friend.

Gave him $20 again this time. I can recognize this douche bag, hope he comes back.

Just realizing he got our group during the Auburn game... exact same description. We all gave cash, including some guests that were with us. And you're right, bucket had a good bit of cash in it. Claimed to be with North Miss area FCA.

We've been talking about this guy at the BDJ. He got us for about $75.

Apparently he was at the Auburn game taking up donations for Shon Coleman, the player from South Haven with Leukemia (or some illness, cant recall.

a real ********. and a ballsy one at that.

I could absolutely pic the guy out of a lineup. Actually, makes you wonder how many of these guys there are and if the school realizes that this is going on, why aren't they planting someone to catch these guys.

Better yet, citizens arrest his tail and sit on him til the cops get there.

I thought the guy was legit. My group got the Shon Colemanstory too and fell for it hook, line and sinker. Scamming on other people's illnesses/injuries makes you the lowest form of filth on this earth. This guy will get his, and hopefully soon.
