I know that our D looks pretty bad.

Was last night just a bad combination of poor scheme against the wrong opponent? If we were to change back to a 4-3 and put a little pressure on the quarterback from here on out, do you think we might be a little more productive? I know anything less than 600 yards will be more productive. You know what I'm saying. I look at our D-line and I see McPhee, Cox, Boyd, Bell, Love, Ferguson, Cooper, etc. I don't think that line talent is that bad. At linebacker, KJ, White, and Chaney are average to slightly above average. I just don't think our front 7 is that damn bad.

Thats whats so bad about it to me... I really don't think our front 7 is bad. So, obviously to me, it has to be scheme mostly. I believe our DBs are bad, and we can't make up for that, but the front 7 shouldn't have been dominated like they were last night.

poor coaching. When we actually blitzed them, it worked. Unfortunately, we only did that about four times the entire game. Having a poor secondary is even more reason to be blitzing and trying to put as much pressure on the QB as possible- pressure is going to help the DB's out. The game plan was poor, but even worse, there was no adjustment.

Like I said before, I would move McPhee to DE and play Fletcher Cox at DT. Then go with Love at the other DT and keep Ferguson at the other DE spot.

Keep the LB's the same, but blitz them more.

Sit Zach Smith and try Thames or Corey Broomfield at safety.

He's not who you want coming up in run support or laying a lick on a 260 lb. tight end across the middle.

I noticed Broomfield playing well against Jackson State. He had two key open field tackles that stopped two receivers from making first downs, and I made a note to mention it later. THEN he had the pick 6 and everyone was mentioning his name. Whether it's talent of extreme effort, he is being productive and earned more playing time.
