I get the desire to can Dan. He can't recruit, appears to have peaked as a coach and may not care anymore.

I get the objection to firing him after one bad year as well.

My question is, is there any point at which people who object to firing would change there minds?

if he wins 5 games? 4 games? 3 games.... Does it only really matter if beats the bears?

We won't lose 8+ games. We can still get to a bowl, but will have to get through the bears to do it. Despite a board meltdown epic enough to archive as possibly the worst ever, can you imagine the difference in the atmosphere had a single pass with 10 seconds left sailed wide?

Au would have stilled kicked a FG tieing the game. And we would have more than likely lost in OT. If we somehow beat OM and make it to a bowl game, then of course I would get off the fire Dan Mullen train. What's the odds of that happening?
