If Dan looses tomorrow, does he go on the hot seat next year? Year one 5-7 excuseable, year two 9-4 great season, year three 5-7 after being ranked in the top 25.

He went to one of them.
We got a chance to go to back-to-back

Some have to realize this isn't a great program, right now
We are doing some good stuff
Look at the top programs in the SEC ...they live off Jr and Sr
We have crooms last two classes as Jr and Sr

We have to give dan at least 2 more years and if we are not any better in 2 years then we should began questions.

Croom tanked in the one area you can't not afford to not have bodies ...offensive line
and i guess you could blame Mullen for defensive line, but we have had some serious attrition their
i mean we are playing a walk-on transfer in our 2/3rd line

what you mean. I just don't put that much importance on one game...after all are competing with 12 other teams in the SEC in addition to them, and it IS a rivalry game and anything can and does happen.

I am worried cause this one means so much to our success going forward. We cannot afford to loose to this OM team, and I have this feeling that Dan is going to coach tight, this weather doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy either. If we come out flat, make some stupid 4th down calls, and turn the ball over this will only give OM confidence. I have been a State fan for damn near 30 years and I have seen this particular scenario played out before and I dont like the ending. Should we win? Absolutely, will we? I have my doubts today.

Dan's got to do a lot worse for two or three years to even begin putting him on the hot seat. Of the first 3 teams in the country, he's played two of them to the wire. The rest of the losses are to ranked teams ... nothing to be ashamed about. We'd like a better record, for sure, but considering the competition we're doing OK.

Don't think we'll lose, though bad weather helps the weaker team. If we do, there's no doubt that next year will be a must succeed for our coaching staff. I see this game as being pressure filled for us. No way I can see how it is not a must win.

No offense, but damn this is why some of our fan base sucks! Who give a 17 if we play these teams "tough" or we play them close. Mullen is not paid 2.6 million to play teams close, he is paid to WIN games. I am sure your a good Bulldog, but the reason we have always been M-State is attitude like this . "Played em tough nothin to be ashamed about" BULL ****! Granted we are not Bama or LSU, but we should havebeaten USC and Auburn this year, and with one game left against a team that has nothing to play for but keep us out of a bowl game combined with the bad weather coming in I see this as a close loss tomorrow, and Dan should be on the hot seat next year.

In three years, Mullen can have two games pinned on him: Houston '09 and Auburn '11. Houston he just screwed up the replay review. I'm not sure State was even better than Houston, but I think State would have won had he not screwed that up. Against Auburn, the team wasn't ready to play and he made the wrong call at the end of the game. Have to get two plays in that situation. USC was the next biggest blown opportunity, but the reality is they were better than State. Not by a lot, but they were better.

Losing to UM tomorrow would be a very bad sign, but it wouldn't put Mullen on the hot seat. As long as the program is still generally moving in the right direction next year, Mullen's seat will be nice and cool.

How cana loss to a 2-9 team with a fired hc be moving in the right direction? Some people on hereare out there. So 5-7, 5-7 in two outof his three season inlcuding a loss to a 2-9 team is still moving in the righ direction?

If we win tomorrow, the program will be in much better shape than when Mullen got here. If we lose tomorrow, it will suck, but we'll still be in better shape than when Mullen got here, there will just be lots more questions about how good Mullen really is.

The reality is Mullen seems to be above average at every aspect of coaching except recruiting and possibly play calling, although outside of the end of the Auburn game, I think most of his questionable playcalling is as much a talent issue as a playcalling issue. We know what the main problem is with recruiting, and Mullen will eventually either have to address that problem or figure out a way to work some miracles. But in the mean time, he is building our program and he's not going to be on the hot seat until the program stops improving under him.

I will see it as his worst failure so far. With our schedule this year (La Tech, Memphis, UT-Martin, UAB) 2 SEC wins is not a lot to ask, especially considering how bad UK and OM really are. I'm already a bit disappointed in not beating either S.Carolina or Auburn.

If we loose tomorrow, I just dont see how anybody thinks that we are still on the right track. Look at the recruiting, the hireing of assistants, and the in game management. Throw stones all you want to on here and go around and talk about how hard we played these top teams, but at the end of the day Dan Mullen is paid to WIN games!

youre bitching at people for having the "poor m-state" attitude, but then you're scared of losing to OM because of the "poor m-state" attitude. Get serious.
