Just kidding. He saw an Auburn sticker on a car at a red light and took it as a sign.

Our staff apparently could never quite figure out how to get a real handle on him. A friend from UGA told me at the end of the summer that their staff could never decide whether to go through mom or the coach or the kid himself... there were times when it seemed like each was the correct way to proceed. I don't think Auburn understood they were gonna get him until the last couple of days.

You never know when these kids act like head cases during recruitment if that is how they will be when they are part of program. If Auburn's staff can settle him down, they have a fine athlete on their hands. If not, this may be the beginning of CamKarma for them.

I wouldn't be surprised if he was "committed" to Ole Miss and State at the same time earlier in his recruitment. He just never seemed to know what the hell he wanted to do. Like you said, if Auburn can get him to buy into the program, they will have gotten a great athlete. However, I could also see him transferring to a JUCO within a year or two.

There just seems to be something strange about him.

said about him and I also agree with uscreb. Whitehead seemed to be the biggest headcase recruit this year by far. I predict that he will be out of football one month into his freshman year.

I remember watching an interview with him early on and thinking, "Damn, he's really sold on State." Then I saw another one where he basically said the same thing about Ole Miss. On top of getting that "homey" feeling wherever he visited, he was leading the charge for all of the MS kids to stay together. Now at the last minute he bolts. Just a weird recruitment.

best athlete on the field of every game, and he will struggle when it comes to competition that is as good or better then himself. Plus, if he really does not handle yelling well, he will not llike the SEC period. Those coaches are paid for babysitting services, each scholly is considered an investment toward their future.
