Question for the old timers

Remember the white concrete that was on the ground in the north endzone that was landscaped and had the old MSU logo painted on it? I think it was actually still there through last year, just covered up by the bleachers in that endzone. Anyway, what purpose did that serve? I once heard that it was originally a footing for a past expansion of the north endzone that ended up not happening, but I don't know if that's accurate or not.

I was reminded of it looking at the pictures in the other thread..it looks like that was finally removed.

Don't know for sure

but I always assumed it was just for looks. Just filling up a huge open space down there. I remember the old MSU logo on it.

Or, was it build when the old jumbotron was put up...just to landscape around it? Who knows.

Pretty sure there's never been any end zone expansion of Scott Field other than the current one and the bleachers that were put in several years ago.

At one point there was a shed back there, almost like a pump house or something that was partially hidden from the field by a dirt berm w/ plants on it, but from the architecture building side you could see the front wall and door. The MSU logo was on the roof of it if memory is right. That may be what the slab was. I think it was pumps for the underground drainage and controls for the irrigation system.

The bleachers were actually brought in just for the 2000 Florida game. Then stayed for Auburn the next weekend. Then it seems like it was a full season before they were built to stay....
