I am not a Saints fan, but they are an excellent football team. Are the true New Orleans fans getting tired of EVERYONE jumping on the bandwagon?

If you can find something to ***** about in an 11-0 season, you need medication. Just enjoy the moment.

I think it's kind of funny to think that we are actually getting bandwagon fans.

Many of these "bandwagon" fans were "real" fans for years and year, then gave up over time. They're not bandwagon fans. They're just "back".

that anyone claiming to be a Saints fan that is getting sick of bandwagon fans is actually a bandwagon fan themselves. The Saints are part of the New Orleans atmosphere and so for any long term Saints fan the more people at the party the better. Of course, I still find this all hard to believe. I know it's happening, I see it right in front of my face, but it seems alien for some reason. If we win the Super Bowl (especially if we do it undefeated) then I'm checking myself into a mental institution.

I've been a Saints fan since the early 80s and followed all the crappy and mediocre and the few good teams since then. It's natural that fans come out of the woodwork when a team starts winning.

The energy from the Saints fan base right now is just awesome. And alot of that has to do with the bandwagon fans jumping on adding to the energy. It's been fun as hell actually.

If State starts winning consistently, I hope we get more of the casual fans to help create buzz about Mississippi State football (and create more revenue). There are pros and cons of the bandwagon fan, but the pros certainly outweigh the cons.

on one level if for no other reason than close family members are suddenly claiming the team, and I know they weren't fans back when. Heck, some of them were rooting for our rivals years ago.

On the other hand, it does make for a better party. I might be more positive had I not already been through this with the Braves in the 90's (fan since '87).

Any true Saints fan is sitting there wondering when the voodoo is going to throw monkey **** all over the perfect season. When does Brees get crushed and go out for the year? When does Williams get caught on Bourbon with a transvestite and a hamster?

Any true Saints fan knows the voodoo lurks.

It's safe to be a Saints fan again since any rumors of them packing up and moving post hurricane are being crushed by this season. I'll add that it's hard not to be a Saints fan if you live damn near anywhere in Mississippi. They are on TV every week, and if you want to go to an NFL game, it's the shortest drive (except for North MS residents). Over time, you just sort of get assimilated whether you know it or not. Seasons like this speed up the process. Also, we get them on the radio, and honestly, the radio crew is actually better when the Saints suck. I still miss Marble Mouth during a sub .500 season.

Plus, bandwagon fans may lead to bandwagon companies who will keep buying suites. $$$$$$

I know a lose is coming or atleast I hope we don't do this undefeated for the first-time.
I told someone yesterday it is going to be funny when we go lay an egg in Washington after finally proving we belong against the Patriots... somebody will say he go the Aints' again. I followed up with that ok with me cause we will be 11-1, who gives a damn about one lost.

I don't think the Saints are going anywhere, but they do have support from Everywhere

The more the better. I have never seen so many fans wearing saints gear in my life until monday. Harrahs was off the hook. All the dealers were representing also. I have to say that the Pats fans I talked to were nice. Hell one of them said he plans on coming back every year to watch them play. Saints are his second favorite team now, he said.

It doesn't bother me a bit. I asked a handful of Pats fans at the game Monday what they thought about Tony Eason. Nearly half didn't know who he was and I called them a tourist.

I've been one for over 30 years. My first game was in 1977 and we beat the rams. I've been hooked since. New WhoDats get a pass. If they are old enough to drink and don't know who either of the Billy Joe's are, I simply ask them what took so long. I welcome them, there is a seat on the bus available.

If you think it was nuts in the Dome Monday, assuming we get out of DC and the ATL with a W, can you imagine the atmosphere on a Saturday Night home game against Dallas.

..hate to break it to you, but everybody who reports NFL football & keeps up with NFL football thought the Saints were a fluke until they went Egg Bowl '09 on that Patriot ***.

So in the last 4 days, the bandwagon has been experiencing a little crowd control problems.

Before the Patriots game, as far as the Saints, there was no bandwagon fan problem.

Bandwagon fans are the idiots I see in Nashville suddenly sporting black and gold, and upon inquiry, they lived in Alexandria for two years, or they have a sister who lives in Mettarie, or they say "I've always respected Drew Brees" or "Everyone should be a fan of New Orleans, it's good for America."

These are the people whose skulls I'd like to take a power drill to.

Misery.

But Saints fans know how to laugh at themselves.

By the way, the voodoo is sure to come...but true longtime Saints fans know there was definitely a different feel about this team from the early going this season. They may lose a game or two in the next few weeks... they may lose a playoff game... but this year has been a different kind of animal.

But I must say... this city is going ape **** crazy over Drew Brees and company. The attitude around here is fun, fun, fun. If the Saints make it to Miami it won't just be a black and gold Super Bowl, it'll be a black and gold Mardi Gras as well. And this place could literally blow up.

.........I eventually broke away from pulling for them as I grew older. I'm still not a Saints fan and I'm not jumping on their bandwagon. They've admittedly been great so far and there's nothing I can say bad about them, but I can't help but feel like they will eventually fall apart at some point. They may even lose to the lowly Redskins this weekend, probably because they have a good pass defense(if that happens). If not, I can't help but expect them to be in the best position of their existence to go all the way to the Super Bowl, like having home field advantage in the playoffs, and still lose a game at home to fall short of Miami. To me, the "Aints" are always hidden in there somewhere.

Let the attacks commence.............

shame they couldn't have suffered through the 35 plus years of hell I have as a Saints fan, but whatever. All I can say is they better finish this thing this year. I want payback.

I can have a new favorite team every year, but there's some teams I absolutely hate: Dallas Cowboys and Oakland Raiders. I've never been a huge Saints fan but always paid attention to them while growing up in Jackson. They were the closest team. But hell yeah...I'm on the bandwagon.

...you are no longer a Saints fan, yet you probably have more posts on this board about the Saints than you do Miss. State athletics.

And we get it: You think the Saints are going to tank. You post that one after every Saints game, so that one is firmly planted in the archives.

All I know is I would have hated to have known you when you were a Saints fan.
