There is a stalled coldfront sitting across Mississippi that may bring showers to the greater Starkvegas area at game time. I'd think that Ike will not impact the game, but the coldfront showers may get us wet.
the storm will hit around houston or galveston. no rain from the bandwiths should reach as far as starkville unless it pushes another system that way. the front right corner of the storm has dry air, which is helping weaken the storm right now. the eye has also disipated somewhat, but they expect it to start strengthening again tonight or tomorrow.
SW LA could see 12 foot storm surges at worst. TX may get them as high as 20. Starkvegas will not get any stormsurge... that should make you more comfortable.
That's what my wife said and she's a meteorologist. I've become used to the vague forecasts. She says it's about a 20% chance and a much better chance on Sunday. However, she told me I didn't have to take the raincoat to the LSU game last season, bad advice.
