Interested in other opinions about how concerned we should be about this week's TN game based on how our defense was sliced and diced by a similar passing offense at Arkansas last year? Russell Wilson and his top receivers from last year really did a number on us. Obviously this game is at home which helps but are there other reasons to be more confident? I mean this year we've added Slay as a big factor in the secondary but we also no longer have Fletcher Cox on the DL. I'm thinking the biggest issue this year is us hopefully being able to control the ball and score more on offense than we did last year and hopefully win the turnover battle this year. Just wondering because TN this year reminds me some of Ark last year in that they have a very good passing offense coupled with a less than stellar defense.

This has been in the back of my mind as well preventing me from getting over confident about this game.

I think Autry makes all the difference in this game, one way or another... have GOT to get pressure from the DE position...

The difference between Wilson last year and Bray this year(up until this point) is largely decision-making. Wilson is a much more cerebral QB. Wilson threw 24 td to 6 int all last season. Bray already has 6 int this season. Bray rattles easily...and has a gunslinger mentality. He is going to throw it deep, regardless of coverage, because he is always looking for the homerun. Wilson destroyed us because he took what we gave him, the short dink and dunk passes....

We have only given up 3 pass plays for > 40 yards in Chris Wilson's tenure(that is 18 games). We are first in the country in this regard, and it is not even close....

I think we are more vulnerable to the quick passes. That is where we had trouble on the road at Troy. There is definitely something to be said for this being a big game at home. If you look back at our big home games since 2010, we have not given up a lot points. We gave up some to Mallet and Arkie in 2010, but we also got some pressure on him. Some big hits on Bray and we might get some gifts.
