Since it seems that it is the consensus that SEC football 2020 may yet be cancelled before the season starts, is there a certain date by which that decision would have to be made before too many wheels are in motion?

I have no idea either, but damn, it just seems like that decision plus the decision as to crowd restrictions are going to have to be made by the end of this month. I mean, tv schedules, travel arrangements, ticket refunds.... What else am I missing?

Wish you had not mentioned the 9/11 game with SC....just re-watched it last week....tremendous patriotism but we still lost the game

I don’t think there’s a deadline for cancelling at all. They can cancel at any time. It could happen next week or on a random Monday or Tuesday in November after we’re more than half way done with the season.

My guess is the schedules are finalized by early next week at the latest considering we are the only league left standing who hasn’t announced an actual schedule yet. Even the Big 10 and PAC 12 got a schedule out before they cancelled. So that’ll come soon. With TV you have for remember that during the season that’s only decided 12 days in advance, so they could technically wait another month before finalizing TV plans just for Week 1.

I meant what is the go/no go decision date before the season starts. I realize it could be cancelled at any time after it starts.

I don't think there is such a date. We are currently at a "go" but could switch to a "no go" any day or any minute.

Game week and then it may not be cancel but postpone. Thats the impression I got listening to sports radio and coaches on TV. They are expecting a wave when students get back on campus. That's why the 26th start date.

Right, and maybe the more important question is... if all systems remain as Go based on what we know today, what would have to change to force Sankey to call it?

I didn’t even realize it til I checked this morning, but the new Covid case 3-day average is down 30% during the last 3 weeks.

Not so sure The conference would be to quick to substantiate the decision made by the B-10 & PAC -12 .... it would then appear as a bad decision made by the remaining 3 conferences ..... and nobody likes to admit to a bad decision so I would expect they would make every last effort to play and complete the season - just MO
