Why is he part of the negotiations with CBS for the new 15 year TV deal? It also sounds like he's "involved" with the possible creation of an SEC network.

He was part of the TV committee for the SEC (may have even chaired the committee). With that much time in on the project, it didn't make much sense for him to just walk away right before the deals were to be finalized. He'll be involved with that committee at least until this round of deals is finalized. And I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him stay on with the SEC for the foreseeable future.

I agree with you that he will probably be associated, in some form or fashion, with the SEC office in the future as well.
