I probably know ten percent of what you guys know about these high schoolers. Would a tobias commit be bigger than the brassell commit? My bamw insider.says Brassell was their number one prospect for skill players. I know tobias is the **** but which would be the bigger pickup individually?

It's splitting hairs arguing which one is better at this point. They are both big time prospects with a quality offer list a mile long. I'll be pleased if we land just one (knowing we have Morrow on board as well). If we land both that will just be sick. Tyler Russell won't be short of any WR targets down the road...

they are very, very similar. Brassell is ranked higher by the experts, and I'm not sure what hairs they split to get that.

The most noticable thing that comes to mind off the bat is Brassell is more versatile than Tobias in that he could potentially be a WR or a CB, vs. Tobias who is pretty much a WR, so maybe that versatility makes Brassell more of a commodity in the minds of the experts- I don't know.

They are both outstanding players that I think will do well in college. Brassell isn't ranked much higher.

Having both on the same team would be pretty difficult to handle. I think they would help each other out because you couldn't key in on one.

Are we planning to use Brassell on offense? If so, where the hell are all these guys going to play? Price, Brassell, Market, Singleton, Robinson, Scott all in this class. I would like to know our plans with each...but I wonder if anyone, even Dan, has any idea at this point. He knows they are all really good players that will find a spot somewhere.

I remember when we signed Hargro from the coast several years ago as a "can't miss prospect". Well, he missed. The more you get, the better chance you have of one turning out to be really good. We run quite a bit of three and four wr sets, so you could get them on the field at the same time the majority of the time. How about one of them taking the direct snap while the other is coming across in motion? If they both turn out to be as good as we think, with the offense we run, there is no telling what Mullen could come upwith. If we can get those two anda really quick burneratrb, look out.

I think he will get a look at both, and I'm not sure that he has a preference of one over the other.

This is what MSU should be doing- get guys that are great athletes and once they get here, find spots for them.

I also think Brassell would be equally as good at WR as he would be at CB.

Brassell is being brought in as a WR. He gives us the type of deep threat we have lacked for a long time. We play 3 receivers on almost every play. Brassell is the perfect Z receiver. Morrow is what you are looking for in a X. And Tobias could be a dynamic Y receiver which is the slot, but is probably versatile enough to play the other 2 spots especially after he gets stronger. The 4th and final receiver in this class is Fosselman and he is strictly a Y.

Market: I look for him to be a really good special teams player with the chance to play safety later in his career.
Price: He will get first look at corner. He and and Justin Cox can really run. There is going to bea lot of speed in this class.
Robinson: He will play TB. He will bea specialty back like Perkins getting 7 or 8 carries per game down the line.
Scott: there is a lot of speculation he won't be a part of this class. He was a very early commit and he may be re-evaluated. We will just have to wait and see.

Jermaine Whitehead, who apparently faced both Brassell and Singleton at various summer camps, said that Brassell was the best WR in the state and Singleton was the second best WR in the state. I guess he'd know more than anyone who was better.

But still, I think it is splitting hairs because they're both about 6'2' and both run sub 4.40's

but I have seen Tobias play in person, and I think he definitely needs to polish up his route running, but what high school wideout doesn't. One thing was for sure though; when he got the ball in his hands, he was lights out.....speed to burn. Like others have said, if we can hold this class and our staff together, it will be very interesting to see what type of plays they come up with to utilize all this talent, size, and speed.

Singleton is a WR and WR only . I know where young at WR , but Bumphis, Arceto, Chris Smith, Heavens, Carr, Robert Johson, Malcolm Johnson, Jameon, Joe Morrow and possibly Singleton is a pretty solid group of wideouts

Slay, Whitehead, Arrington, Cox, Jackson and Market listed as DB commits. Just seems to me we are likely bringing him in as a receiver OR we are getting into a little bit of overkill at the DB position.

If he's better than others at DB, then he'll play there. If he's fast and elusive enough, then he'll get snaps on returns and offense too. I don't see Mullen pidgeon-holing such a versatileplayer to one position; if he has skills to benefit a certain position, I think he'll be worked in.

Think how the Diaz D could thrive if you've got a CB that consistently can lock down that main WR threat. Wow!!! The Blitz packages would be scary crazy!
