If any of you watched the Bama vs. Vandy game last night I would like your honest opinions on the officiating of the game. I am one of the very few that is a Bama fan 1st and State fan 2nd, so I would just like your unbiased thoughts.

I didn't watch the game. I will say this... Bama is very rarely on the short end of the stick when it comes to officiating.

So bad I'm not sure they are even capable of showing bias. Sometimes you can hack a guy in the face and get away with it, sometimes the slightest touch gets called. Just watch ACC or Big East basketball you never see the rough play that goes on in the SEC.
I will say we've gotten some horrific calls against us this year but we've also gotten away with a few things too.

The foul differential was 22 to 12 in Vandy's favor. Thanks for the Updyke reference Mizzou, but I do not poison trees and I only use tea bags when making sweet tea.

It was the correct call on Green. He was grabbing, pulling all all over the guy.

Look, I am not trolling, I am on this site all the time, I just do not post. Please spare me all of the Bammer humor. You guys have an excellent board and for the most part have fans who are intelligent when it comes to football and basketball. If I wanted stupid as$ questions and comments I would have gone to Tigerdroppings.

Grant is dealing with leftover pieces of **** like Mitchell and Green, both of whom are pussies. He needs another recruiting class to get rid of the leftover dead wood. In my opinion, your problem last night was not the officiating. It was the fact that your guys got asspunked by a deep and experienced TEAM that is exceptionally well coached. And your guys laid down like singapore whores. As your football coach would say, Vandy "... made [your] *** quit."

I would agree with your assessment for the most part. However, it seemed the team fell apart with the officiating debacle in the first half when we went over 6 minutes without scoring. Then Vandy came out and put us away early in the second half. I was just at the game with my two boys so I couldn't see everything. Mitchell didn't even score, first time in 86 games I believe and every time Green gets on the floor we are about two seconds away from a Technical or a bench brawl.

...refs had little bearing on the game. It was a slaughter from the opeing tip-off.

Bama was lazy, inept, badly-coached.

Vanderbilt arrived ready to play.

If you want somebody to blame for last night's trainwreck, forget the refs.

Didn't you say during football season that you really only watched MSU during the Alabama/LSU overlap discussion?

No, I didn't say that at all. I go to as many State games as possible or at least I did before marital issues. As a matter of fact, I filed for divorce the day after the State vs. Auburn game at State in 2010. I am traveling to my Uncles house this weekend from Tuscaloosa and he is a State grad and donor. So call BS if you must, but I speak the truth. Bama is first and State is second, it has always been that way.

Who said he hasn't watched a NC game in years because they bore the hell out of him, yet he happened to watch the Bama Vandy basketball game in it's entirety.

I don't know that Bama was lazy necessarily, but they were outplayed in every facet.

What struck me most about the game was realizing that I don't think it was any great defensive effort on our part last Saturday that helped beat Bama. It's just who Bama is. The are not a skilled offensive team to start with, and any deficit to them is cause for concern. When Vandy got them down last night, they had the ability to step on their throat, and once that game got to about 13-15 points, there was no way Bama was going to score enough to come back from that. That's the difference in State and Vandy. State had a nine point lead at 40-31 I believe, and instead of extending it, we gave up about a 15-4 run and were behind.

To answer your questions, the refs were no factor in the outcome.

...am I required to lobby you for a sports watching license? Does my sixpackspeak.com nut sack grow larger in size if I treat the NC football game like a religious experience, even though MSU is not playing in it?

And I didn't say I watched the baskteball game in its entirety.

I just said I watched it.

and nothing stuck out to me about the officiating. It rarely does though for me. People always complain about officials but I seem to never see the one sidedness in games. The game gets officiated and it's the teams job to understand how it's getting called and adjust accordingly. Bama plays slow tough basketball and when the shots aren't falling for them it hurts more than the average tempo'd team. Vandy is easily the second best team in the SEC if not the best when everyone is healthy. Bama was just one of the first to get an ***-whipping compliments of Vandy this year. MSU is probably next.
