I saw where they were elected to the basketball hall of fame today. Congrats...well deserved! My question is how much did Laettner contribute to this team during their gold medal domination? He was great if not the greatest in college, but pure let down beyond that. I was 10 yrs old in '92, so this is why I ask. I can't recall exactly if Laettner wasbig contributor at all.

I wish they could have somehow put Isiah Thomas, Shaq instead of Laettner- like a game was going to come down to free throws and Dennis Rodman on the team. If for no other reason than to see Rodman dye his hair like an American flag and to see what kind of havoc he would cause on the Olympic villiage.
I know putting those guys on the team would cause them to go over the roster limit, but, hey, that's why it's called a "Dream Team". They should have gotten a waiver. It's not like anyone was going to realistically have enough depth to come close to them anyway. Like Croatia is going to argue that they would have held the Americans down to 130 or something without those extra players. Put Dominique Wilkins on the team to. That way he and MJ could have a slam dunk contest before every game.
