in honor of starkville legend, Gerald. You could even get an old shoe-shine chair in there for him to pass out in, ala Cheers.

I had $95 in my checking account to last the remainder of the semester. I had a $60 bar tab that night. For some reason, it never went through my checking account. Thank you Flo's!!!

That's all I got. I like stuff named "The" - The Dawg, The 612, The Grill, etc...

That sounds such better than an apostrophe or plural like Rick's or Wings. Except for Hooters. Hooters is always cool.

How about "The Dawg Bowl."
"Paws" "Bababooey's"

And to the post before, the Dutch Bar was for pretty much all Prep, JA, and MRA guys to go hang out and drink in a bad part of town when they were 15-16 years old.

The name of the bar is critical. Opening a successful bar is no simple task. The character of the bar, starting with the name, is often what makes the place a hit or not. Moreover, I love Starkville, and would rather see something new and original than something played-out and tired.

Maybe it is a little obsessive, but does anyone think it is cool that we have "remington's hunt club" in town? College bars become part of the lore of the town and the school, who knows if this one will be something like Flo's was for me when I was in school, but we could at least help the guy get a good start.

I liken the whole situation to the Bypass/chain restaurant arguments we have had on here often. College towns are just a different animal and provide an excellent opportunity to create a business that is tied forever to the school and the town and the most important and fun experience in your life. I just hate to see an opportunity wasted. Again, I concede it is a little over the top, probably the best solution would be for me to quit lawyering and open a bar of my own. 8Dog, you in?
