1) What head coaches has Greg Byrne hired and/or assisted in hiring in the past? (Besides John Cohen and Pat Casey)

2) and what have they done at their schools since their hiring? (Records, years)

before his arrival at MSU and hiring of Cohen here, was he as quiet and diligent as he is now with the previous searches?

What is this CaseLogistix stuff that Byrne used to work with? Some kind of computer program for attorneys to use. Was he some kind of salesman for this program or did he actually work for lawyers.

Let me add that working for attorneys is never a good thing in my book.

Brooks has turned out to be a great hire for Kentucky.
I think some here wouldn't. He hasn't exactly blown people's doors off yet they have been much better than they were.

I think I'd take it right now. I think I would take similar marks to what Tommy Bowden's put up at Clemson. I was called a troll for saying that Bowden would be a good hire...or maybe it was for saying that Petersen was never coming and it just pissed people off. Either way, I stand by the comment that Bowden would be a good hire. Would he be a home run?...ummm...probably not. In fact, no. Would he be my first choice? No. Petersen would have been fresh and innovative without any stench of failure on him. Bowden, though, is more proven having done some good things at Tulane (harder place to recruit to than MSU), been solid but not spectacular at Clemson in an ACC that's a bit more competitive than most Tigers want to remember. He's hired very good top assistants in Rich Rodriguez and Dabo Swinney.

All I'm saying is that it's NOT criminal to hire a guy that somebody else is unhappy with or to hire a guy that doesn't seem to have the potential to put a team at national championship level. I think Bowden compares very favorably to Nutt and while I appreciate Nutt's motivational style (hate it but admire the results) and game day coaching I think Bowden appreciates the value of recruiting more and works it more. If he'd hire 2 good coordinators, Bowden with a fresh start could be quite good for a few years. I'm not even saying he's up for the job or even interested. I'm just saying a Tommy Bowden/Rich Brooks hire is not the worst thing in the world and could be very solid for the program. In fact, I'd say Bowden seems more productive at this point in his career than Brooks seemed to me when UK hired him.

Now, I'm going on record as saying that Wilson or Mullen both are intriguing hires. Neither has proven nothing as a head coach but would bring a ton of momentum to the job and Wilson is old enough to have been around the block a couple of times and pick some things up unlike Lane Kiffin, for example.
