Can someone please explain to me why opposing teams have not learned to stay the hell away from Varnado. His nickname is "Swat"...do they no know what that means? I couldn't believe KY kept driving the lane in the second half.

Unreal.</p>

Does anyone have video of his last block? If so, get it to slick so he can upload to YouTube.

That would work on a meat head like Patterson but not on a smart guy like JV.

I thought Jarvis was going to foul himself out for awhile there, but luckily the refs kept calling the double contact fouls on our other player each time.

You basically have two options. 1) Draw Varnado out of the lane with your offense to open up the middle, or 2) don't go in there.

He alone is the main reason why I said you were probably Memphis's biggest threat in their entire bracket in last year's NCAA tourney. And you probably gave them their toughest game primarily because of him. He can basically shut down a dribble drive offense like Memphis's, because he gives your team the freedom to not have to collapse or double when a guard gets a step into the lane. I'll be really curious to see what happens when you play South Carolina. I'll be curious to see if Downey can still get his game going in the lane. For a guy that's under 6 feet tall, I've been really impressed with his ability to avoid blocked shots and still score.
