They are not very patient down there. Any chance we see a "Nebraska-esque" meltdown of this program over the next 10-15 years if they let go of him after an above average year next year? I guess it also depends on if FSU continues to rise.

Don't have a clue ...

But here in Virginia, 'gator' decals seem to be disappearing with less seen each and every day

When Florida hires a good coach, they will be contenders again. Too much local talent for them not to be.

My guess is that Florida had a boatload more money than Nebraska, but I could be wrong.

Nebraska doesn't have the ability to cherry pick talent like Florida. Urban took basically the same kind of team and won big instantly utilizing a freshman. They could do it again.

I think Muschamp finds success at Florida though. He's a great coach and a great recruiter. He just needs to find him a couple offensive coaches to fix that side of the ball.

At one point the state of Florida had 3 ranked teams at one time and UF wasn't one of them (although they were ranked to begin the season). FSU and UF can be successful at the same time. Florida has more talent than Alabama and a couple states combined, and Alabama and Auburn could potentially combine for 5 straight national titles.

What he needs is a Quarterback. There's not many good teams with a ****** QB. Example: MSU for basically all it's history. Whenever we've had decent QB play we've had a decent team. Driskell getting hurt killed them. They wouldn't have won 10 games, but certainly would have been 6-6 minimum which is basically the same as going 4-8 at UF. Driskell is not a under the center QB either. He's a spread QB. Once he gets the pocket passer to run his west coastish syle of offense, he'll be fine I'm sure. It's pretty hard to be consistently bad at UF considering the talent pool. I mean people think, and thought wrong in my opinion, that Zook was a bad coach and he was winning 8 games a year and built Urban's future teams. Those people are just plain crazy. With what's going on at FSU right now, Muschamp only has next year to win at least 9 reg season games if he wants to keep his job. He's lucky Miami is down right now, or he would have been out the door this year.

My personal opinion is that Florida made a huge mistake in keeping Muschamp.

Florida's problem isn't getting a good quarterback. It's getting a good system for a good quarterback. They've had McCroomvey level offensive production every year of Muschamp.
