Question regarding tailgating versus watching the game at home

Typically when attending an early afternoon or late afternoon game you begin tailgating sometime in the AM and as is the case with myself, and I assume with most of you, you begin drinking your alcoholic beverage of choice, so by game time the misery of watching us play football is tolerable.

Now is there a different set of rules or expected behavior for staying at home and watching the game on TV? I don't feel guilty for one second popping a beer at 10AM on Saturday while grilling some pork ternderloin at the game but at the house it just isn't the same.

Being at the game itself gives me every reason to start drinking in the morning all be it a noon or mid afternoon kickoff.

Now at home, if I started to loosen up the infield at 10am under any circumstances it would go as follows. Wake up, shower, turn on Gameday, pop first beer, wife puts foot in my ***.

Here is my advice..

If your wife is a problem, then cook her some breakfast and give her a Bloody, mimosa or a tequila sunrise...
Hell you might even get lucky at halftime....

the problem is not so much the wife, although she does have her moments, it the kids that are a problem. They expect and understand that daddy will be a blubbering incoherent idiot pissed off at the world at any MSU game but so far I have been unable to explain my behavior when I am at home.

I was just wondering if others were in the same predicament as I am especially since I won't be attending any MSU games until the The Little Rascals are relieved of their coaching duties.

If you're grilling, that's all the excuse you need. If you're not and it's an early game, then I usually wait until about 30 minutes before to start drinking. If we're playing mid-afternoon on TV (not likely this year because that would mean we were the CBS game), start drinking about halftime of the Raycom game.
