Question to SPS iPad users

When attempting to 'quick reply'(w/o quoting) to a post/thread, does the keyboard collapse down after each 1 character you type? If I double click to do a full reply I don't have this problem.

Its just a slight inconvenience I'd like to fix. Unless of course it's just mine that's possessed.

Yes it does this. Many times I have to reply with a quote first. Make sure you are signed in to your username.

Yes, very frustrating at times. Usually if I just type 3 letters the keyboard will eventually stay up.

Or typing a couple then deleting them. Of course on this reply it worked just fine. I also can't figure out when ill get a quick reply or an advanced one...

I haven't had that problem, but I don't use the iPad on SPS very often.

Question: Did you update to the new operating system? I did not ... wanted to keep YouTube and Google Maps. Perhaps that is the problem if all three of you did the update. The only oddity I've noticed is that you can't reply to a specific post.

The quick reply or advanced reply is a problem on a computer too ...

I got the advanced one this time; quick a second ago on another post. I'm using a MacBook with Safari. DS said it was because of not letting the page fully load with all the ads before replying, but I'm not sure that's true for me.

Yes I have the new OS. And you can reload YouTube and Google maps when you upgrade if that's why you're holding back. Also...of course when I quick reply here now the keyboard works, go figure.

That was my reason for not upgrading, but I didn't know you could reload them. Are they on the Apple Store? Seems I looked for the maps at one time and you had to pay something like $50 to get the app. Might have been a Garmin App though.

It works fine for me on the original OS though. Not sure what the new version is supposed to do better. I do have the new one on my iPhone.

The YouTube app is better than the YouTube you have now. They fixed all the bugs. And like GTA said, you can download google maps app.

To solve this simply press the keyboard down button in the bottom right hand corner, then tap the field again to bring it back up. That has always worked for me.

If I encounter this I usually "over zoom in" on the reply field. When I tap the field to que the keyboard it automatically backs out a bit and stays in the reply feild for the duration of my typing

Yes.

Hint 1: press the reply button twice to bring up a full reply page instead of the quick reply screen

Hint 2: when the full reply screen comes up, click the "x" in the URL field in Safari just before the page fully loads.

I don't understand why any of that is necessary, but it fixes the keyboard problem.

Only issue I have sometimes is the type icon doesn't appear but I can still type (the blinking blue line). To bring it back I'll press down till it gives the select/select all option. Then I close the keyboard and press again and the blue line pops up again. Weird.
