This may have been asked in the past, but it is always fun to see the responses. <div>
</div><div>It can be any sporting event. Baseball, football, women's basketball... whatever. <div><div>
</div><div>I'd say probably the finish to the 2008 U.S. Open when Tiger took Rocco Mediate into a sudden death playoff (only the third ever in U.S. Open History) after an incredible chip-in on 17 and a tough putt on 18. That was one of the craziest finishes I have ever seen. </div> </div></div>

1) Lefty winning his first green jacket.

2) When UK beat Stan's boys in 2004 with a last second tip in. That game was nuts.

Steve Spurrier kicking a 41 yard field goal to beat Auburn 30 - 27 with three seconds to go in the game. Florida was down 27 - 0 at half. One of the best 2nd halfs I've ever seen.

Not really.

Lumbering Sid Bream sliding under the tag.

Al Michaels' call at the 80 winter olympics.

The f'n field goal that never happened in 83.

F'n Greg Elena's tater off Thiggy in 85.

Fastest 100 split in relay history by nearly 6 tenths of a second, made up a body length in 25 meters, and helped Phelps win his eight golds.

Also, the Tracy Porter pick six to seal the Super Bowl. Granted, not a game ender, but a clincher to the freaking Saints winning a freaking Super Bowl.

If I remember correctly, Laettner made every shot he took that game (3-pointers, 2-pointers, and free throws). Never missed a single one.

Edited after research. Laettner was 9 for 9 on 2-pointers, 1 for 1 on 3-pointers, and 10 for 10 from the free throw line. Twenty shots in the basket without a single miss. 31 points and 7 rebounds.

Best basketball game between two great teams I ever saw. Great ending.

I agree with Sesh and Doggieriffic. The runner in me wants to choose Prefontaine even though I wasn't alive.

However, that Lezak finish in the Olympics will always be a memory of mine.

That was an awesome moment.

I'll even go more feminine (in some people's opinion) than that. The Schleck vs Contador climb up the Col du Tourmalet in last year's Tour de France. In the fog, Schleck relentlessly attacking, Contador matching every time. It was freaking awesome.

6 to 3. 1999 vs AU and the 1999 Egg Bowl too. I thought it was over when Prather fumbled the punt. Then later....I was shocked OM did anything but take a knee on the play that ended up being Beans kick And Clintons pick. What a bizarre call for Cutcliff.

A number of the others mention too. Oh, didn't LSU throw about 4 pick 6s one year vs Auburn to give Auburn the game after LSU led the entire way? Early 90s.

is still mine. Given what was on the line and it was such a big deal for MSU football to have a chance to go to Atlanta for an SEC championship. And then on the last drive I can still remember all the stomping on the bleachers, the 2 converted 4th downs and everyone holding their breath when Hazelwood came out for the game winning FG try. Most nervous I've ever been at the end of a game. Luckily, from the sideline stands, you couldn't tell how close he came to missing the FG or we might have all passed out.

"Grand slam from Mastsers!!!!!!!!"</div><div>3. 6-3 MSU-Bama</div><div>4. 1999 Egg Bowl</div><div>5. NFC Playoff game between the Saints and Vikings</div>

I remember how crappy I felt that whole game and how Timmy Bowers but on a show in the second half and in overtime.<div>
</div><div>As far as bad memories, the 2000 Arkansas football game sticks out as a very bad memory. Getting stopped on fourth down with our team on the south end of the field. We were just a few yards shy of the goal line. Of course, it never should have gone to overtime with two missed field goals in regulation.</div>

...but I'll never forget last year's UT-LSU finish. I just could not believe that LSU was mis-managing the clock that badly, again.

I guess my most memorable is the Bream slide.

Football - '98 win over Arkansas. That last drive to take the lead was one of the most memorable sporting moments of my life. Honarable mention goes to the '99 Egg Bowl. The pick and kick was one of the best finishes to an Egg Bowl ever.

Basketball - '96 SEC championship win over KY. The KY team is regarded as one of the best to ever play the game and when we took them down, I remember having one of those "holy ****" moments when I realized how good our team really was.

Baseball - Burke Masters, end of story.

Golf - I feel for the guy, but for some reason the Jean Van de Velde collapse at the '99 British Open is by far the most memorable moment that I can think of. Needed only to make double bogey on the 18th on Sunday to win, but he hits it in the creek and ends up with a triple to force a playoff where he then loses. Unbelievable.

Racing - Dale Earnhardt crash at Daytona

Xbox - I was the house champion of NCAA '03 football and while we never kept up with records, I had to be somewhere around 200-0 at the time. Anyway, a roommate had me down 35-24 with under a minute to go and seemingly the entire Academy Village complex was there to watch me get beat. I can still remember my roommate not even being able to sit down from the excitement of kicking my ***. Well, he was blitzing nonstop so I ran two straight quick slants across the middle and scored with about 10 seconds to go. Everyone knew that my only chance was going for two and to somehow come up with a field goal, so I did go for two but the play failed. Once again, the place went crazy. I lined up for the onside kick and one of his guys actually recovered, but I pounded him as soon as he grabbed the ball and it came loose. I recovered somewhere around the opposite 45 yard line with 3 seconds to go. Rather than go for a hail mary, I did the craziest thing that I could think of and just threw a quick screen to my tailback as soon as he crossed the line of scrimmage after the snap. 55 yards later and with time running out, I scored and won the game as a controller went smashing into the wall. Best moment in video game history for me.

a finish, but Mario Austin for 3 at the end of regulation vs. Kentucky. Sent the game into OT, and we won. I was in the hump, and I'll never forget that one.

</div><div>99 egg bowl</div><div>the sid bream slide</div><div>06 oklahoma @ oregon (<- grad school)</div><div>bryce drew</div><div>
</div><div>but one that i will vouch till i die as one of the greatest moments of pure euphoria...the landon donovan goal to beat algeria. i get chills just remembering the reaction. a bunch of white collars standing packed shoulder to shoulder taking long and late lunches to watch, everyone pulling for 1 team, and just the absolute mayhem when he knocked it home. </div>

I can't stand soccer unless it's World Cup soccer. Maybe it's the whole USA thing, but I love watching the World Cup. Watching Donovan knock that ball in just makes you feel proud for your country, and it was just a hell of a goal that had to happen for the U.S. to advance to the next round. Great game.

in Super Bowl 44 by Tracy Porter ranks at the very top.
Also to see PManning on his *** as the Saints team goes running by him towards the EZone helped make the play even more memorable!
