aGAINST Bama when someone was offsides on the goal line or something like that? I think we ended up losing 13-7.

Wasn't it Mike Montgomery in 1991 with the false start because the Alabama linebackers were yelling snap signals. ETA: it was in Tuscaloosa and we were on the 1 yard line.

who had a false start when we were on about the one yard line in the last minute about to win. I believe that was at a home game in the early nineties.

Looking it up, it was 1991. For some reason, I thought it was controversial.

we were at the 6 inch line on 3rd down trailing 13-7. It was under 2 minutes to go in the game. Somebody moved early on the offensive line because the Bama defensive players were yelling out the play calls (at least that's what was said later). We then had 3rd & 6 instead and didn't score on 3rd or 4th down. We lost 13-7. I can't remember a non-competitive game against Bama under Jackie from 1991-01.

our snap count!#@!@ Should have been a penalty, but they did it the whole game. Was watching the game with 2 Bama fans and will never forget jumping up and screaming out various obscenities!@##@!

Yes, that was a heart-breaker. And it was Bama LB John Sullins who was yelling the snap count. Apparently, he'd done it several times in the game - it is a penalty...

Sherrill told the referees numerous times to watch for it, but when Montgomery jumped offside, Sherrill went ballistic and called the referee and his mother every name in the book. It really is a wonder they didn't throw him out of the game. The Kang was pissed, but took it to a whole new level when, mid-tirade, the referee said, "Coach, there's nothing I can do about it. Sorry."

half back pass with Tony James and Bama intercepted it and ran it in right before the half.

I remember Sleepy saying that he complained to the ref about it when going to the locker room at halftime. That tells you how it wasn't just something that happened at a crucial time late in the game but something that was brought to the attention of the officials and just plain ignored.

What year was the Jay Barker "incomplete pass" that went backwards? '92 or '94? That was another good screw job.

about it like it was an infamous "no call." Seems to me that this would be a pretty common move by a defender. I would like to think our O-line should be a little more disciplined than that. I bet far worse **** is said and done at the line of scrimmage than simply a defender yelling "hut!"

...I think he was only there a year. His dad was an asst. high school football coach. S.E. Sullins, I believe.

There used to be an urban legend in Oxford about John Sullins and a couple of more guys in an all out brawl at the Sigma Nu house at OM while they were still seniors in high school.
