there would be some delicious irony if Bama even seriously tried to get Stans to replace Gottfried.

I would be very surprised if he left for Bama.

I wouldn't be surprised. He's been the best SEC coach this past decade. Look at all the other SEC west coaches:
-John Brady....STANSBURIED!
-Rod Barnes....STANSBURIED!
-Cliff Ellis....STANSBURIED!
-Mike Gottfired....STANSBURIED!
-Stan Heath.....STANSBURIED!

However, I see Bammer going after some young Coach, someone one who pops up in the SEC tournament from a mid-major to make it to the Sweet 16 or better (ie, Bruce Pearl).
