This will give you some RU FB history, up to 2009.

I just looked it up. In 2012 we were as high as #18 in the AP poll. In 2009 we made it to #25 in the AP and in 2007 we were as high as #10. In 2006 we were as high as #7 and did finish at #12. In 1976 we did finish at #17. Our 1961 team finished at 9-0 and finished at #15 in the AP. In 1958 RU was 8-1 and finished at #20 in the AP. This can all be found under google.
Don't forget , in 1976 RU was 11-0.
Also many 1 loss RU FB teams weren't ranked because RU was more of a FCS school than a FBS one, most of its football history.
Got votes in the final poll in 1984;( 29th in votes); we were 7-3
Key wins: Syracuse (19-0 and the week before they beat #2 Nebraska); West Virginia (final ranking of #21) and Army (final ranking #23)
Losses: Penn State 15-12; #19 Kentucky (we were winning at the half) and #5 Boston College in a relatively close game (Hooper was denied a touchdown...replay showed he was not down (I still have the video of the game)... with less than 4 minutes to play that would have brought us within 5. That was the year Flute threw the Hail Mary to beat Miami. We were to play Miami that year, but gave up the game so they could play the BC game..... that is why we only had 10 games.
A real kick in the *** was that Army and WVU got bowl games at 7-4 and we were 7-3 and beat both of them
