I think it depends

If it is short toss and they are being careful I would let it go

If they are whipping the ball with high velocity and disregard to people and cars around them I would say something

That’s always interesting. Watching people toss a ball around a tailgate is part of the whole scene. But when they’re all drunk and sloppy and it’s going all over = gets REAL annoying REAL quick

Ok herecis what happened

Initially a bunch of teenagers in Michigan unis were tossing the football and hit my friends Mercedes

My friend told them..thats it leave

Okay a few minutes later about 4 17 bit maybe as old as 19 yelear old Rutgers fans started throwing near us and my buddy said please lets not do this here we got hit. Now normally people say ok and move away and say ok but they argues back and said its a tailgate and if we hit you we will say we are sorry

I told them why the **** cant you respect the boundaries. They left and came bac again. Usually my buddy who is hotheaded kept his cool and stood his ground even as they kept jawing

Were we wrong..is it that hard to go and throw the football on the grass somewhere.

The younger generation has no respect...18 year olds mouthing to 50 somethings in their tailgating space

..agree...tell them to go throw by grass as their qB skills are weak and they are a safety concern..

The problem is, if you ask them to not do it, there is a possibility that they will wait until you leave your car and then dent your car. Once I had someone throw chicken wings at my car after I left it because I pissed them off when I was at my car. No dents though.

says every generation ever
Bullcrap. My dad would slap me silly if I acted like today's kid. He was a 2 time all state high school football player. Linebacker and offensive line guy. I was taller but his hands were huge. You only needed to get slapped by them once in your lifetime.
Today's parents and participating trophys have made this generation fearless. They feel they can do anything

Is it wrong to tell people not throw footballs near your car at a tailgate

Just had a situation
You weren't wrong. I would have told them not to throw it. If they continued, I would have grabbed the football out of my car followed them back to their car started playing in front of it. Missed on purpose and said, "Sorry".

You should have roughed the passer.

It’s right telling the kids that hit his car to leave. They hit his car.

Dont think it was right to tell the other kids to leave if they didn’t hit his car. It is a tailgate and footballs have always flown at tailgates. So see no issue with kids throwing.

"Rough" a kid @ my tailgate and see what happens tough guy.
We're suppoesed to encourage kids. Not make them afraid of offending old a$$holes.
Kids are gonna be inconvenient sometimes. But. Those are the same kids that will face bullets for you morons later in life.
