"Rough" a kid @ my tailgate and see what happens tough guy.
We're suppoesed to encourage kids. Not make them afraid of offending old a$$holes.
Kids are gonna be inconvenient sometimes. But. Those are the same kids that will face bullets for you morons later in life.

If a kid is 9 y/o then fine. 16+ then you're the *******.

We were talking kids (In my opinion)earlier. This devolved into 18+ halfway through. I will say again 5x is a problem. Once. GFY. The older the perpetrators the less the tolerance. Agreed.

Bullcrap. My dad would slap me silly if I acted like today's kid. He was a 2 time all state high school football player. Linebacker and offensive line guy. I was taller but his hands were huge. You only needed to get slapped by them once in your lifetime.
Today's parents and participating trophys have made this generation fearless. They feel they can do anything
Exactly

Ok herecis what happened

Initially a bunch of teenagers in Michigan unis were tossing the football and hit my friends Mercedes

My friend told them..thats it leave

Okay a few minutes later about 4 17 bit maybe as old as 19 yelear old Rutgers fans started throwing near us and my buddy said please lets not do this here we got hit. Now normally people say ok and move away and say ok but they argues back and said its a tailgate and if we hit you we will say we are sorry

I told them why the **** cant you respect the boundaries. They left and came bac again. Usually my buddy who is hotheaded kept his cool and stood his ground even as they kept jawing

Were we wrong..is it that hard to go and throw the football on the grass somewhere.

The younger generation has no respect...18 year olds mouthing to 50 somethings in their tailgating space
I swear I would've said nothing, let them keep throwing. Intercept the ball and fvcking bomb it with a punt. You're 100% right too. They're disrespectful little *****.

Did you miss the part where he said it hit the car? Not just happened into the tailgate scene? That's a huge difference.

Typical young pricks. It’s like being at the beach and some idiots sit 2 feet away and limp dick toss a $5 Walmart so called football. Literally into everyone when they could walk 10 feet and have a wide open beach. So it goes with these cake boys.

I actually had kids smash our beer pong table with a football. Obviously by accident. I didn't get mad but the kid ran to pick up the football and go back and I just told him to clean it all up. He did, all good.

Would love to see all the disrespectful things the gen x tough guys in this thread did as teenagers.

They were perfect, their music was perfect, their clothes were perfect, etc. They and their parents would sit around on Friday nights singing church hymns played on the victroller, wearing suits and dresses, while dad had a snifter of port and told them about his day and mom did the housework.

Both sides have a point
Why bring a car and park it in a tailgate area when you are afraid of it getting hit by anything? Go park that way in the back or don't bring it.

For kids, if you are doing something that is bothering someone else and they ask you to stop, why not do the friendlier thing?

Both sides were selfish, putting their own needs ahead of others.

Did you also yell at them to get off your lawn?

Only kidding. They were definitely in the wrong here - you're talking cars and tailgates, but what if they hit a little one with that football? It's real easy to walk and find an open place to throw the ball. We do that all the time when we want to toss the football or a frisbee.

Are you talking old a$$holes in general or the ones that have already faced those bullets, protecting us, and just want the respect they have earned?

The problem is, if you ask them to not do it, there is a possibility that they will wait until you leave your car and then dent your car. Once I had someone throw chicken wings at my car after I left it because I pissed them off when I was at my car. No dents though.
You never heard of keying ?
Unless you plan on leaving someone behind to watch the cars while you attend the football game it's not really a good idea to piss off someone who knows where your car is...and unattended.

Right. Only 30 years off in the few cases it applied to but why let facts get in the way of a good rant?

Sorry, is it not timeless to say older generations questioned the young?

My greatest generation grandparents told millennial me how crazy they thought my boomer parents were, and I'm not the only one.

Point taken

Much respect for all who serve from me and mine. If that includes you, Thank you for your service.

Although if a football landing by you is disrespectful in your opinion, I respectfully think your definition is too broad.

Lol. But I thought part of the perfect life was that both parents worked all day and night ...and they were free to roam wherever and became much more responsible world citizens because of it.

Teens these days just don't have enough completely free time in which to cure their boredom using only their own devices. That's the ticket.

Pretty spot on except there wasn't church music on Fridays, it was Jerry Vale and Perry Como.
Hymns were Sunday evening.
Duh.

Ah yes the ever popular participation trophy boogeyman--a concept that was invented by boomers but is now used by boomers to blame the younger generations for everything.

Certainly mom only worked in the house at cooking, cleaning and caring for the children. And dad of course had to work all day and night. Anything else would be chaos.

There's no right or wrong in that situation. It's a spur of the moment type of thing. You have the right to ask them to move, and if they were good kids, they would have complied with your request. They sounded like real wiseasses who do not respect others' rights.

Football hitting a person, have a right to get upset.

Football hitting a car, no right to get upset.
Part of tailgating.
