*Crickets*...Old. UR uses that all of the time, played out. Since we’re talking admissions..Thing is, VCU has been watered down because of our greedy school president. Upped the admission rate by 25% in the past 2 years and had 2 tuition increases. More students more money. We were the 4th hardest public school to get into after JMU, W&M, & UVA. Think about it though..We’re the #1 public arts school in America..Best Medical School in VA..School of Dentistry, School of Engineering, School of Business, our Criminal Justice and School of Social Work are second to none in VA and are nationally ranked. Lastly, School of Education (
my graduate program) is making it a name for itself..Easy peasie to find a job..I SHOULD KNOW, I HAVE ONE LOL!!!!. So nope, no McDonald’s or Burger King. So when University of Henrico Beats the WaBooHoos again in football says that “We are Richmond”, that’s a lie...VCU is Richmond. Without VCU, there’d be no Richmond. Sports Head out. GO RAMS. DSH, unless I missed some kind of statement, his was certainly not much more immature than yours. You had a joke and so did he, and you did start the thread. I didn't find either funny, but yours was more of a comedic joke, as it did make sense. The burgers and fries was really just dumb. I'll guarantee that every school in the nation, yes even Ivy League have had graduates serve burgers and fries.
When I think about it, it was more ignorant and more disrespectful. While DSH made a joke about a teams athletic accomplishments, so what 15 people, to disrespect an entire university and denigrate their graduates is appalling. Just because someone doesn't like a sports team doesn't mean they are a bad person. And just because someone you disagree with went to a school doesn't mean you should disrespect a school.
Just because I am a UNC and Ohio State fan and very much dislike Dook and ichigan, doesn't mean they don't have GOOD SCHOOLS. I dont think that every one of their students will serve food, or not work. That is disrespectful to ALL their students who work hard to attain a great education and life for themselves. I can't stand Grayson Allen, doesn't mean every Duke student acts the way he does

People on here make things a lot more controversial than it should. I didn’t take what he said with a grain of salt, however I chose to defend with factual information. He proceeded to say that I took it to heart, which I didn’t.

I have taken classes at a few of our fine Universities here in Virginia, undergraduate and graduate. Let's just say UVA was one of them along the way and leave it there.
So have I. Not UVA, but I had the pleasure of having to choose between JMU, Tech, and VCU as well as attended Averett and Radford for a year. All great Universities.
Say what you want about UVA basketball...but I'm willing to bet UVA Tennis has more National Championships then VCU does total. And baseball. And soccer. Lacrosse, swimming, plus the women's sports...
VCU doesn't have any national championships in any sports. VCU has only been VCU since 1968, that's another story. We'll get our opportunity.

I used to be a big VT basketball and football fan in 2007-2010. I don’t get my hopes up with any of the VA teams anymore.
I hope you don't get your hopes up for Carolina teams either. Even with talented recruits UNC football has struggled. Duke and UNC get the best of the best on the hardwood, so they should be in the mix every year. I am not sold on the one and dones, but I understand why coaches go for them. I still think experience can trump stardom.
Nope, I tend to cheer for the Ohio State’s, Clemson’s, Louisville’s or Clemson and whoever the underdog is (UCF, USF, etc)...I stick to my Rams in basketball or whoever one of my Danville boys are playing for but VCU basketball....talk about disappointment LOL!!!
I never have really wavered in football. Have been a VA Tech fan since age six (Turkey Bowls at Victory Stadium). I did get into Notre Dame as a kid, because of the Sunday higlight show, but through the good and bad I love my Hokies.

I can still name the starting five from the team that lost to NC State (David Thompson) in the ACC final. I cried like a baby after that game. I also remember my dad spanking my tail for hollering so loud and waking him up (midnight shift) when Les Henson hit the 97 footer against FSU.
Yes, I am old, but the sports memories are awesome. I hated the Sixers and Lakers (NBA Celtics), despised the Flyers (NHL Rangers), the Dodgers (MLB Reds and Pirates) and Cowboys (NFL Redskins). I don't enjoy pro sports anymore and rarely watch them. High school and college get my attention.

DSH, check out the talent on the floor for the 1974 ACC Championship game. #1 NC State vs. #4 Maryland. Remember the loser did not make the NCAA Tournament 103-100. No one and dones. 3 NC State players played in the NBA/ABA (Stoddard played in MLB) and Maryland had 4 starters play in the NBA/ABA.
NC State: Burleson, Stoddard, Thompson, Towe and Moe Rivers.
Maryland: Elmore, O. Brown, McMillan, Lucas, Mo Howard.
