Does every Class conduct the semifinals the same way in regards to A playing B & C playing D? I know some use to cross bracket.

Yes, A vs B, and C vs D. That is a VHSL rule for all classes. But, it has not been officially declared which region will host.

Didn't A host C, and B host D this spring?

The reason I ask is because I'm working on another contest.

Tell me what you think: For those that want to play pick your semifinalists (Final 4) for each Class. It will be interesting to choose before the season starts and see who gets the most points. 2 points for each correct pick to get to the Semifinals. 4 points for each correct pick to get to the Finals. 8 points for each correct champion.

I think you should reward higher points for correct pics for the semifinal winners and for picking the champion.

The chances of picking the semifinal winner and the final champion are considerably more difficult and should be rewarded as such.

I don't believe so. I remember it being controversial because it was pre-established. Maybe Danny Lewis can shed a little light on the subject?

They need to rotate it like they used to do the old regions. This constant A/B C/D has gotten boring. It’s time to switch and see some different matchups in the semis. The Salem’s vs the Region B champions or the Broad Run/Tuscarora’s vs the Lake Taylor’s would have been exciting.

I don't think C4 has ever rotated regions. C3 has rotated in the past and C and D kept winning the semi's.

I’m talking about back when the regions were called East, Northwestern, Central, North. This is almost 20 years ago.

They still stayed on the west and east. Ex Salem has never played a team East of Richmond in the semi's

I’m thinking more of the old Div 5/6 setup

Agree with you, but it's all about the money. Two teams near each other almost always draw bigger crowds than two who are separated by hours of travel.
