Where is the "Reply" button that should be right beside "Reply with Quote"?

And why are the icons from the icon legend at the bottom of the Six Pack Speak page not used on the threads? Those would be helpful.

To answer your question about the icons - they only work in topic view. It's a trade off unfortunately.

Another question: I am using a iPod, am in mobile view, and have popup blocker turned on. I still have a Bally fitness popup that wont go away. I scrolls with me by staying at the bottom of my screen. There is no "x" to click on to remove it.

There was setting in my ad network that I thought I had turned off for video ads but just turned it off literally 3 minutes before your post. Hopefully - it will start going away in the next 1 to 2 days.

Thanks DS. I'll let you know if that works. FYI, it's not a video.

I am having the same problem. And it is a Bally ad for me as well. I don't mind the ad itself, but the scrolling thing is annoying as 17.

Poof....now that I sent that I now have the 'reply' and the 'reply with quote' options.

Weird.

The "Reply" button goes away when you are not logged in. I am constantly getting logged off. Just log back in and the "Reply" button shows back up.

Sorry for the slow response, but the reply button is still not showing up for me. I'm on an iPad, if that matters (and I'm sure it does). I am posting this message via the "Quick Reply".

You actually replied correctly. Where do you expect to see the reply button? Right by "Post New Thread"?

The reply button that's right beside the reply with quote...

Button wasn't showing up. Even though it did when I logged on for the first time. I logged out last night and logged back in this morning; the button is back, so problem solved.

Thanks for the top notch customer service.

Glad it is OK for you now!

These things can often be resolved with a refresh (Ctrl+F5) or clearing your cache. Sometimes we get something incomplete or broken stored on our computer and the computer thinks it is OK, so it keeps dishing up the broken content. There is a good chance you had your browser set to clear cache on exit, which would explain your issue being resolved.

Is there a way to hit "next thread" or "previous thread" while on a mobile? That's always been a handy feature...thanks

Not presently. The mobile version is very stripped down for speed of loading and adding any feature could have an adverse effect on performance. We could perhaps take a look at this over time though.

I was wondering...

and I apologize if this question (or one like it) has already been asked, but have you guys looked into changing the default viewing of the board for new comers to topic view for the board and hybrid view for the threads? I'm sure you guys have already looked into something like this, but I was thinking that since most people come from boards with setups like that already, that when new people come to look at the board, it maybe won't be so foreign or hard to figure their way around here.

You are quite right. This was something I mentioned before you guys came over. As far as I can tell, it looks like it has now been addressed.

The idea is not quite as simple as it sounds though because there are two changes that are required, which are made in two entirely different ways. If I were to suddenly change everyone now after they had made their own personal choice, I would not be very popular!

Those with profiles which have been migrated all ended up with the same preferences as the default was then. So, that could still cause some confusion for them, once they log in. Perhaps I should take a look at adjusting the as-yet unclaimed profiles to the new default? I think that might be a very good idea, so thanks for bringing that up.

Thankfully, the rush on claiming profiles has abated. That is not to say there won't be another surge! We have approx 1,300 actively registered members out of over 6,000. The chances are that there will be a similar amount to follow and the chances are these will be spread out over months. I've only done 4 today so far. Yesterday was 14. Friday was 32. Thursday was about 10 an hour. Wednesday was about 400 a day.

Any small touches that help people settle in and feel at home are worth it!

Thanks again.

Nice. Also, what you said earlier was pretty interesting. I haven't really dealt much with hosting my own site or worked too much with forums either, but I have done some work on learning how to make my own sites over the past couple of years, so I had somewhat of an idea that certain changes like that wouldn't be too easy or as simple as most would think. Some of what you said made it a bit more intriguing to say the least.

Seeing as it is of interest to you, I went into the database of 197 tables and found where these preferences were stored. I then found the best values for these fields and ran a couple of queries on the database to update all members, which had not yet migrated. It's interesting to find out how things work and also fun!

The stumbling-block here was just the way that members ended up after import. Due to member feedback here, this has now been corrected.
