Supposedly, these people who run these recruiting services are supposed to report and that is it. No recruiting, etc. We know yancy came out last year and was talking about throwing Mullen curve balls and whatever else ******** he was spewing at the time, basically admitting to lying in an effort to have an effect on recruiting. If I were yancy, I would be worried that I was appearing to be too involved in the process. Is this another gray area with the ncaa?

Rosebowl and I would say they are opposites. I don't know how their equivalents behave at other schools so Yancy may be the norm and
Rosebowl may be the doorknob. I just don't know.

I'd say probably a fair amount of them cross the line is some aspects of being unbiased, but hey, the kids are answering the calls and the texts so they're not choosing to ignore them.

The NCAA probably doesn't worry about it to much unless they ever get whiff of a coaching staff using them to some other purpose and can prove it. Otherwise they have bigger fish to try and cover up.

And if a kid is truly influenced by what a guy like Yancy or Gene thought they should do, then I don't have a lot of hope for the player.

When it comes to contact with recruitsdoesn't alumni and boosters have (some) of the same rules as coaches? I remember when Chris Spencer was being recruited his step dad worked for me and I was scared to death to say anything to Chris. After what all went down I am glad I did not.

but Yancy has no significance to Mullen or his staff. it's all Yancy pushing Yancy to his sheep.

I don't see Ole Miss fan making as big a fuss about it. At the end of the day I can't imagine these kids care one way or the other.

Rise bowl isn't my favorite (I'm not on scout). But there are differences that make yancy worse. Rosebowl is in LA, he doesn't actually have much physical interaction. Yancy is in Oxford, watches croots dance, does peepin Croom like appearances in competitors videos, etc... It's not like he checked in with him via twitter, he desperately reached out with smiley faces because he didn't have his number. Creepy, sad, and pathetic

In actuality, it isn't YP's "stalking" that anyone is concerned with. It is his obvious attempts to recruit for, and show prejudice towards, OM when the questions should be opened ended without his customary editorializing in the question process

Definitely had 'inside' contacts on Nutt's staff. He was close on too many signees two classes ago. Not so much with Bucky's staff. Rosebowl ate his lunch last Feb; thus the .... 'I'm lying to throw the enemy off' post when all his predictions went south

Do have to admit ... Those recruit 'dancing' recaps remain classic!
